hey. ok well this guy sent me a message on myspace which said:
"hi, i found you in the jailbait group. honestly, i dont know if that means you are into older men or not. if you are, add me k? you are very pretty and id be honored to have you on my friends list. if you are not, i dont mean to offend you or freak ya out or anything. a no reply would be sufficient. thanks."
i dont really know what to do, his 40 years old and i am only 14, i did not join a jailbait group and i did not add him.
i know that this is illegal and im not sure weather or not to report it. he may be into child pornography because when i went on his myspace to see who he was their where other girls around my age sending him comments like "thanks for the request, your message was really sweet" ect. and they had pics of them half naked and stuff. what do you think i should do?should i reprt him to the cops?
im so sorry this is so long but im really worried that he may be sleeping with minors.

First calm down you are doing just fine. Second get your parents to look at this guys space and abide by their decision. It does sound like he likes children a lot too much. Should you report him, I would say yes but have your parents with you. You are doing fantastic and your parents should be very proud of how well you are handling this. God bless.

talk to your parents. They will help you to report him. He sounds like a sicko. I would definately put a block on his email address so he cannot contact you again. But, before you do that talk to the authorities. I just don't know if the local cops would be able to do anything. It may be an FBI function.

Now this is to Dane. What the F*** are you talking about??? There isn't such a thing as consensual sex with a minor you idiot. It's one thing to chat with a teenager to give them advice or such. It is entirely different when the adult crosses the line. 18 is the legal age that a person becomes an adult. Only then should another adult consider any type of relationship of a sexual nature.

His initial message sounds creepy, but it isn't necessarily illegal. I think your best bet is to copy the url for his profile and send it on to support and let them handle things. If the guy is a pedophile he needs to be stopped. On the other hand, if he's not, just the accusation could really mess up his life. Just report it to MySpace and be done with it unless he contacts you again.

He has done nothing wrong yet. I do not know much about myspace, but isn't it pretty much an excersize in shallowness? Putting up pictures and then have everyone comment on them?

It is NOT illegal to ask someone to be your friend even if you are OLD. :D I've never heard of a guy who is 40 who sleeps with minors randomly and without them having a choice... If he does sleep with minors, sure it is a crime, but the minors are participating for their own selfish reasons.

Take it from me, I have worked many cases starting like this. Even if the local authorities don't have enough to convict him of anything. He is being watched from that point on. We have many ways of looking deeper into MySpace than the regular user can. If you have any more questions about this or need pointed in the right direction you can contact me at jscott85@gmail.com for confidentiality.

Report him. Immediately. I'd draw as much attention to his myspace as possible as well. Freaks like this like to hide themselves. Shine a light on him by reporting him. Post a link to his myspace? Multiple complaints from concerned citizens will get more attention.

Yes report him, if it turns out to be nothing, so be it but if it isn't, stop him now. You can find a lot of information on this link.
