I actually prefer a bottle of blackberry brandy when I am out in the cold like that...but if I had to choose between your two...I'd go with rum...

Of the two, I'd choose rum. It always seems to have a nice warming effect.
However, the best alcoholic drink in the cold is hot sake. Heat it up in the microwave and feel it slide down your esophagus.

Neither is smart thing to do when you are the weather elements are like you described. But if it is for a very short time, go rum.

Get out the vodka!! The Russians have been drinking it for a long time. Warms you right up!! Also, some Cinnamon schnapps will help keep your gut warm.

Better not to drink alcohol at all when you're cold, it actually lowers your body temperture. Sorry

Out of those 2 - whiskey, but if you really want something that warms you up try a good gold tequila!
