Smiddy has been toying with the idea for about four minutes now. Any tips on how to get the hair to grow in this very distinctive fashion?

Providing you have the natural hair to do so. I'd say getting a short haircut is best to start with. Stop getting curls and stop straightening. Its best to pick out your hair from the scalp. Be sure to keep your hair conditioned well. With any luck you should have a natural fro in no time!
