It would seem that the general concensus is that you should stay in School - have you ever seen Grease? (The bit when Frankie Avalon is singing 'Beauty School Drop out' to Frenchie?)

I know it's hard to hear, but I had a similar experience when I was away from school because of injury and never quite managed to catch up or learn to pass exams - which in some respects is what life is all about - that is of course if you choose to want a good job and/or money to afford a good life.

The most gutting thing is when you are sitting in a job at the age of 30-40 and people who have a Degree in 'History' or 'Drama' keep getting promoted above you because they have a piece of paper to say they are better than you - no 'Wizard of Oz' at this point will help because trying to study for an exam when you are in full time employment is very tough - it's best to pass exams at school age (unless you are sure you can afford a career break at a later stage when you feel you are more ready to learn - which I believe can be just as valid).

Perhaps, as you seem a little unsettled and unsure, is to try your hardest to decide where you want to be/want to be doing in five or ten years - this is the sort of thing you shoud be discussing with your mum or the Head Teacher and decide between you all the best way you personally can get there! Hopefully this will give you more interest in an an impetus to learn the things that will help you in the 'real' world.

Unfortunately, there is no getting away from the fact that good English and Mathematics are a basis for all things, but other subjects should be geared towards your life plan!

P.S. Even if you decide you don't want to do lots of exams, work experience might be the way to go - a friend of mine left school with basic English and Mathematics and took a job as a check-out-clerk. She now runs the Supermarket and is on an extreamly good wage - you have to decide what you want to do and if you can stay the course - I think direction is the key!

School is rubbish and a lot of people hate it. The difference between a late - night - convineince - food - distribution - agent and a doctor is application.

Believe me, if you hate school you'll love working in a grotty job because you've got no qualifications.

Do you want fries with that ?

If you try at school but can't quite grasp stuff as fast as others, then help will be available, and good luck to you.

If you are clever enough to get some qualification but can't be bothered, then i hope life throws all its got at you.

Lets meet up in 10 years to compare progress, shall we ? We can either meet at my place, i'll give you bus directions, or we can meet at yours if you can gurantee the wheels on my Austin Martin won't go missing.

you have to be there 8 hours a day, right ? Whats the point in throwing it away ?

I used to hate school too i am now 23 and i couldn't understand the point of it either, however you have to think about what you want to do as a job when you leave school as this is what counts towards it. I know it's hard and people at school are nasty but if you work hard and try to enjoy yourself while doing it then you will be better off in the future. I hated school till year 10 when i made new friends. (once the year had picked our options and gone into new classes of our choice you still have this to look forward to this year picking what you want to learn)

Hope you manage to make the right decision do you really want to be lounging at home in 20 years with nothing to show for your life?!

For most people school is a lot better than work. The better you do at school the more options you have when it comes to choosing your job.

If you're at least capable of getting onto Yahoo Answers and getting your message across your not altogether stupid. Schools worse when you feel you're not competing. Get into the special needs class, you'll proabaly feel smart there. You'll get more help and before you know it school won't be so bad.

special needs support doesn't mean anything bad it just means he is helping you out a little bit the classes are much smaller so you get more attention and help with your work i have known a few children who were in special needs classes and have finished school wit some fantastic exam results don't be a rebel and get excluded it isn't the best thing to do you will be far better off talking to your head of yr support and your parents and they will be able to explain the situation better to you

best wishes for you take care and work hard make yourself proud and your parents

I realy advice you to stay in School. Education is the key of your life future. Evryday your Mom is not going to be with you once you're an Adult. Without education you can be ruined all your life, and later age you will regret. I have a younger friend now she's regreating for cutting school and not having any education. She has to go for every details for somebody. Would you prefer you to be Smart, or always depend on someone to help you all your life for reading, writing and with no knowledge. Pls. stay at school and enjoy your school life. Once in life we'll get school to enjoy .

grin and bear it like the rest of us had to? what you got left to go 2 years untill youre 16 and at leaving age? then what? when the rest of your mates are going out enjoying themselfs at the weekend, after the working week, and youre stuck at home because youve no job and no money? if i were you get stuck in to your school work for the next 2 years,if need be stay on into the sixth form, get a decent job,and enjoy the things you will be able to do,when youre fetching home a nice wage? ive been on benefits, not through choice and hated it,not only does it lower your self esteem, you lose your sense of worth?( not aimed at people who genuinely cant work by the way) if you think being at schools bad, wait untill youre in the big wide world, then youll wish you were back at school, trust me???????????

GO BACK TO SCHOOL!
seriously, at fourteen, you will be starting your GCSEs and that's a MAJOR exam to get ready for! You need to be in school so you can make sure you understand everything! Don't try to be a rebel and skip school, it's really not worth it or you'll just screw up your life.
