it calms you down / reduces anxiety
but do not use it for more than 8-10 days straight. you will get addicted and it is VERY hard to get off. go to a psychiatrist if you REALLY need it but trust me & everyone on benzobuddies.org that these drugs are really really dangerous (benzobuddies is a support group for people addicted to valium, klonopin, xanax, and all drugs in that family - they all cause similar trauma when going off)

Valium is a sedutive and its prescription only(well it is here in oz)...
If you've been prescribed valium its probably because you have some mental health issues such as anxiety, schitzophrenia, bipolar or numerous other things... If you have been prescribed valium do be careful because yes it is very addictive...

It relaxes you.
It has side effects however. If taken too often, memory loss occurs especially if taken while drinking beer or alcoholic beverages. It is in the family of chemicals/drugs referred to as 'benzodiazepines'.
It can only be obtained with a prescription from a doctor in the U.S.A.
