I saw on TV 2 weeks ago when this girl fan fainted when she saw an actor & his wife coming out of a resturant. His wife waited to see if she was ok, then told her to get a life.
Why do Americans Idiolize Celebrities so much. For God sake why are they paid so much? For God sake, 90% of them are high school drop outs. U need to have 2 brain cells(not more) to be an actor. U could train a monkey or a donkey to act. They read from a transcript , repetedly, till they get it right, for God sake. If not Hollywood, most of them would have been hired in minimum wages jobs. Is it to American, once ur on TV, then u become GOD ?

Celebrities fulfill a fantasy people have of a perfect man/woman. The image a fan has of their idol is too perfect to ever be real. They see them act heroically, sensually, wonderfully on screen and they want that person in their life. Whether they know this is an illusion or not doesn't really matter because the fantasy is still satisfying emotionally nonetheless.
As for the fainting girl...well she was just a girl. Meeting her perfect fantasy man in real life must have been too much for her.
And it's not just Americans who do this. Look at how Germans love David Hasselhoff. Or how the French love Jerry Lewis.
Gross.

It is not American it is everywhere in the world. I am from India and I have a lot of respect for a many American actors I am not a fan. See these actors are paid high but they also work very hard for it. In India you find actors being heavy paid. You get paid because of your worth. They are not putting a gun on anybody head and telling them to pay more. If a person does not go to school it is not necessary he is an idiot.

I whole heartedly agree. Just "pretty" people, considering that most actors are cast for looks versus ability. I will disagree on one point, there is a great difference in a performance and a good performance. Celebrities are people just as you and me and deserve some privacy. I once saw Tony Banks from Genesis walking along a mall in Houston, Tx., I was going to the concert that night and would have loved to have gotten his autograph, however I respected his privacy in that he seemed to be alone and was attending to something he wanted or needed to do. Who am I to invade hsi privacy. Americans have taken the lives of celebrities to a sickening extreme.

They don't see them as larger than God.
Some people just want to have that life, to be famous. Americans arn't the only ones, look at any developed country (Britain, France, USA, Canada etc.). It is just a obsession with those that are famous, and the news (aka paparazzi) love to make a bigger deal out of it than it really is, most Americans just don't give a damn about actors.
It DOES take skill to act WELL. Go ahead, watch the Godfather, the Departed, or any good movie, and tell me you could do it. That's what I thought.

None. In positioned up cutting-side thought faith is lifeless and so is artwork, so only throw a meaningless plot at the same time mixed with excessive doses of nihilism after which you're good to circulate. good success. you will possibly desire to get a minimum of a Pulitzer prize for it.

Maybe because, that since Hollywood actors/actresses are seen as actually existing, and that their viewpoint/s are seen as being 'more-valid' than an 'imaginary' "god-figure"-?
(or his "disciples")
