my bf will go to canada next month as permanent resindent. I just want to know how long would it take for him to apply for a fiancee visa? what are the requirements? does it have a minimum years of stay? what are other options aside from fiancee visa?

Canada does not have a fiancee Visa like the U.S. does.
A fiancee is treated like any other family class immigrant, and needs to be sponsored as such. In this case, you must apply while living outside of the country. As far as how long he must wait before applying to sponsor you, I don't think it is very long, but not sure. Link below will have all information and application forms.

If married, or if you can prove you are conjugal partners having resided together at least a year, you can apply for a visitors visa and live here (without working) while you apply for immigration status. This kind of application cannot be appealed if turned down, whereas the other kinds can be.

He needs to apply to the Canadian embassy in his country. His questions will be answered there. It's different for different countries.

It depends what country you are from and what country your fiance is a citizen of.
