As I see it, you have two choices:
1) Call the local authorities and report what you saw. Tell them you're afraid for your safety and ask for protection until he can be brought to justice. Then keep as far away from him as possible. Sever all connections, including those with his friends. Period. You won't have the guilt of keeping his secret on your conscience. You'll be safe and can guarantee yourself at least the potential of a happy future.
OR...
2) Don't report him. Keep this to yourself, and if his crime is eventually uncovered, you could be held as an accessory to attempted or actual homicide for not reporting it. If he's never found out, you can EXPECT that his violence will escalate. He'll shoot someone else, and his violence will eventually spill over into your relationship (if it hasn't already, which I would find hard to believe it hasn't). You'll become an abused, dominated, controlled pawn in his very scary world. You will lose your identity and be subsumed by his manipulations. Eventually, you'll either marry him or just shack up with him and do everything he tells you to do "or else." You'll have babies by him, which will only serve as another means of manipulation and control for him. He'll threaten to kill you or do harm to your children if you don't acquiesce to his every whim. And you can forget about ever leaving him. You think your life is in danger now? Wait a few years until your lives are completely and irretrievably intertwined.
Geee....I don't know. Which one sounds better to you? Do the right thing, sweetie. Go with option 1.

You can report him anonomously if you wish. At the end of the day he has commited a crime, which has a left family with one less member now, he could have been married and/or had children, and he was rudley taken from this world. I undertsnad that you feel uncomfortable about this, but you should do what is right here, because if he is charged for it, without you bringing this to the attention of the police and it is found out that you were there, thae can charge you with 'with holding eveidence' or even 'guilty by association.' Think about the consequences of not telling anyone, and what it could mean to you. It is too late for your boyfriend now, he is already guilty, and will pay the price eventually.

Good you are able to get many answers from the fora. The best would be to do your duty as a true citizen of the country and that is call the police and tell them. I know you will have lot of headache after that but still you have no other choice because if you do not tell the police and at later stages the police come to know about it you will be booked under the offence of suppression of fact.

If you saw a crime, you have a moral obligation to call the police. If you love your boyfriend, you can stand by him as he works through the legal process. But if you fail to report it you are as guilty as he is.
Hopefully you at least made sure the guy who got shot received medical attention.
