I have bought over 5 years worth of M.R.E.'s and stored them in the underground fallout shelter i made, plus i have tons of survival gear hidden in secret caches in different secure area's just in case i need emergency back ups for whatever situation should befall me, i put two underground concrete water tanks in with my fallout shelter, one is a water storage tank and the other is for gray water, i based my shelter on Utah shelter systems(tm) but i have done a few things differnt so as not to incur there wrath, people that know me say i'm going overboard this survival phase they call it, but i would rather be overprepared than underprepared.

I don't have guns in my shelter either but that doesn't mean i can protect myself, i like big game hunting with a good bow and arrow rather than a loud rifle, cross bows and bow and arrows are good enough for me and i'm a very good shot to boot.

I don't need all that stuff. I have an M4 with a crate of ammo.

My liberal tree hugging neighbor has all the food. He doesn't think guns are a good idea.

Who do you think is going to end up with the food when it's all said and done?

I'm just kidding.

I think you are very well prepared. They scoffed at Noah when he built the Ark, right? How many others will be joining you in this shelter? How long do you plan to stay underground? At least you'll out-live most of us by several years, but when you step out of your shelter, you may not want to be a survivalist. I am afraid the environment will undergo a nuclear ice age, the ozone will be depleted, & most living things will be dead, with the exception of roaches and most likely rats and other vermine. I don't fault you for your preparedhness, but I think I'd rather not be one of the survivalists. The only area in the world we could see as a nuclear-wasteland would be in Chernoble, Russia (spelling?). No one is yet living in that area after nuclear contamination. How long has that been? 20 years?

You are not weird unless you are already walking around thinking somebody is plotting on you directly. I think that America has mad a few bad choices...did I say a few I meant a butt load of bad choices and may have to pay the piper. We have not captured the 200 year old man that was responsible...supposedly for 9-11. Who is to say that right now America is not open game for a full blown land attack. All our troops are protecting another country.

I guess it is everyman for himself maybe not so prevalent now but with the current events it's not so far fetched anymore.

PS I can make real good meals from almost nothing....you might want to consider that if it all goes down.

I think hes preparing himself from the other US Citizens. When the **** hits the fan everyone will go nuts and try to rob and break in into other peeps property! Im sure hes not worried about terrorist or any other kind of enemy. Its the rest of us whos hes worrying about!

When the Gas pumps stop selling gas, and water and ice become scarce you will start to see people getting ruder and ruder. Enough about that! Ya get the picture! Atleast he does!

Man, if had the oportunity to do the same i would. i dont have the money nor the time! I wish you good luck my friend. remember to stay humble and help others!

You have made your first mistake already. You say your friends are calling you weird? Why? They know about your shelter and supplies. Thay's why. That's stupid.

When things get bad enough for you to need to use what you have prepared, your friends are going to be there begging you to share your limited resources. Their friends will be there, their relatives will be there. You are going to have to decide who lives and who dies. You may have to defend yourself.

You need to start over again, and keep everything a secret. Whatever is compromised needs to be moved or abandoned. Good luck. I hope things don't go that far.

Sounds like you are prepared against the Neo-cons. I am trying to talk my husband into building one. Let your friends call you what ever they want to. My friends are the same way, my own brother has even called me demented, anti-American, and stupid, I am not Anti-American, a it is my right to speak my mind, I have a brain, I can think for myself, and it is those people that have the "what you see, is what you get" - VIEW - it's time they wake up. Don't these idiots realize how our Constitution is being dismantled? The Patriot Act, for example. They [your friends] are probably still watching TV & use drugs. We are living in times that call for ACTION, and for every person that refuses to wake up, it makes it that much more difficult for those of us that do. Our freedoms are under attack, I'm glad your actually doing something about it, spread the word. Tell your friends, "Don't worry about me, worry about yourself"... Have fun with it; Keep the Faith.

if you are not willing to kill everyone that doesn't prepare as you do then you are definately waisting your time. First it's your girlfiend/wife then it's mom and then... what, you didn't expect that you would have to let those friends/family die? Hope you have plenty of ammo for those occasions when they don't take no for an answer! Hey they thought you were weird anyway.

Well I bet alot of the people from New Orleans wish they were better prepared. I bet if anything ever did happen your friends would all be scratching at the door. If you feel more secure then keep it up...good job.

No you are doing the right thing, make sure you rotate your water, and also make sure you have a good first aid kit and book, a sewing kit is also a good idea if you don't already have one.
