well theres many ways in which eggs can be cooked these are some Scrambled eggs is a dish made from the lightly beaten combined whites and yolks of two or more (usually chicken's) eggs, sometimes with a little milk or water added, and stirred while cooking. The dish is most commonly consumed, in western countries, at breakfast time.

A fried egg is an egg cooked by frying, typically in butter, cooking oil or margarine, for the purpose of eating. There are different ways to fry eggs.
'Over hard', also called 'hard' — cooked on both sides until the yolk has solidified.
'Over medium' — cooked on both sides until the yolk is fairly thick but still a liquid.
'Over easy', also called 'runny' — cooked on both sides (not clear) but yolk is still liquid. This is occasionally called 'sunny side down.' These are also commonly referred to as 'dippy eggs' or 'dip eggs' by Marylanders and by Pennsylvania Dutch persons living in south central and south eastern Pennsylvania. Also called 'treasure eggs' in the southwest of Pennsylvania.
'Sunny side up' — cooked only on one side; yolk is liquid (the oil or fat may be used to baste the sunny side, however). This is often known simply as 'eggs up'
Another style known simply as 'Fried' - eggs are fried on both sides with the yolks broken until set or hard. These are common in asian variations of western breakfast, as well as fried egg sandwiches.

Boiled eggs are cooked by immersing eggs (typically chicken's eggs) in boiling water with their shells unbroken. (Eggs cooked in water without their shells are known as poached eggs; see Poaching (cooking).) Hard-boiled eggs are produced by boiling until both the egg yolk and the egg white are solid, while for soft-boiled eggs the yolk, and sometimes even the white, remains "runny". Boiled eggs are commonly eaten in Europe, North America and other parts of the Western world. They are generally considered easier to cook than many other ways of preparing eggs, while hard boiled eggs are easier to cook than soft boiled eggs.

An omelette or omelet is a preparation of beaten egg cooked with butter or oil in a frying pan, often folded around a filling or given a topping. Gourmet cook Julia Child famously described an omelette as soft-cooked scrambled eggs wrapped in an envelope of firmly-cooked scrambled eggs. Many variations exist.

A frittata is a type of Italian omelette featuring hearty fillings such as meats, cheeses, and vegetables. Rather than being folded like a normal omelette, it is prepared open-faced, and typically finished under the broiler.

A Poached egg is an un-shelled egg that has been cooked in very hot but not boiling water, until the egg white has mostly congealed, but the yolk remains soft. A small amount of white vinegar may be added to the water to keep the egg white from spreading out.

Eggs Benedict is a dish consisting of two halves of an English muffin, usually topped with smoked bacon or ham (sometimes known as back bacon, which in America is called Canadian bacon), poached eggs, and the crucial ingredient, hollandaise sauce.

Coddled Eggs are eggs cooked in an 'Egg Coddler'. These are small glass, ceramic, or porcelain jars that have screw-on lids. You can get them at various on-line cookware stores, (Williams-Sonoma has them).

You put a pat of butter, 1-2 eggs, and 1-2 Tbls of heavy cream in the coddler, screw on the lid, and place the coddler in a pan of boiling water so that the water reaches half way up the side of the coddler. Leave in the boiling water 10-15 minutes, depending on how soft or hard you like your eggs.

The best thing about egg coddlers is that they retain the heat so your eggs stay hot throughout the meal.

Scrambled - mix 2 eggs with 4 table spoons of milk and salt and pepper (not that much!) heat some butter in a pan and when hot add the egg mix and stir until almost set. Remove from heat and butter toast and add egg on top. You could put some smoked salmon on top for the ultimate luxury!

Omlette - same mix but this time in a frying pan. Melt butter and then pour in egg mix. Allow to set at the bottom, move a little of the set egg away from edge of pan and tilt so raw egg mix goes in and continue until almost set at the top. Put your filling into half of the egg and fold over. Stick it under the grill for a minute or so.

Fried egg - break it into a hot pan with oil or butter. Spoon fat over yolk to set it.

Steamed egg (Sometimes known as coddled egg). Put your egg in to an egg steamer which has been greased with oil. Add salt and pepper to taste. Boil hot water under the egg and serve on toast when just set.

Poached egg - er - hate these so do not cook. Hopefully someone else will tell you that w=one

Baked eggs - line a ramekin with either cheese or thin ham. Break egg into that and then fold over the cheese or ham to form a lid. Bake in the oven for about 8 - 10 mins until just set.

No doubt I will think of something else when I have logged off, but there are plenty more people who will know more.
