AVG free edition ends its coverage on the 15th of January.Does anyone know of any free downloads of a virus protection I could get?

no AVG free isn't ending only the version you got which is 7.1 is being upgraded to 7.5. Here's the upgrade link...

try Avast (www.avast.com) or AntiVir. they are both free and quite good
