Actually I have recently asked this question myself.Although i have mixed opinions .I am at times.. can't really figure out why ..there have been many go before us and they weren't scared ,they were more excited about venturing into the unknown one being Carl Sagan and then there are many buddist that can't wait ..they think its better on the other side. There was a famous man in history to be beheaded and was awaiting execution. He said well I look at it this way ..If there is life after death then it will be buisness as usual and if there is not it will be no different than going to sleep.Others have said its like the best sleep of your life. and others say there is nothing end of story ..I want so much not to be afraid..but it creeps up on in the worst way lately .. but then there are times that I pray and just relax and don''t worry about it.. I don't know what the worst way to die is.. and there are many quotes about it.. I will put one below that comforts me but i really don't know why ..but has a mellow affect on me.. and makes sense...

What is Death?
Is it the end, or the door to a new beginning?
Death is all around us. The death of a bird from the scattered feathers on a lawn, the dying breeze as the clouds move onwards. The Death of the sun as it sinks in the West and its re-birth each morning. Seeds planted to bring new Life, yet they come from the death of the flower or nut. Death is in the seasons, as each gives way to the next. When the snows of winter cover the land, Death is part of Life, as the old gives way to the new, and Spring heralds a new beginning.
Think about Death, not in a morbid way, but as a positive beginning that we must all face. Each has a purpose in Life, and each will have a purpose in Death. Live your Life to its fullest because your Ancestors made it possible. And when your time comes, know that it is not the end, but the beginning of a new existence.
We should not be afraid of Death, but welcome it and do our best to prepare ourselves, for our family’s sake.
Let grief be a cleansing, let none hide their tears, for it is their loss they are feeling, knowing that they are left without your smile, without your love. Let them know that you will meet again and give them courage to face their future, without you.
Death is but a doorway, and the key lies with the Goddess who turns it at her will.

Empty your mind of all thoughts.
Let your heart be at peace...
Each separate being in the universe
returns to the common source.
Returning to the source is serenity...
When you realize where you come from,
you naturally become tolerant, disinterested,
amused, kindhearted as a grandmother,
dignified as a king...
you can deal with whatever life brings you,
and when death comes, you are ready.

I was afraid of dying when i was young.. like in my teenage years.

Since then i have had touches and seen some things others would say never happened or im mad.
I do believe there is more to this after death.. and i have no fear in dying.

I dont really feel im afraid of how i die,
i would like the coming to the end of this life to be without pain.
But again .. thats a life lesson i will get to in time.

People are afraid of dying for they won't know when that day will come. There's the unknown factor in place. However, if one has prepared him/herself for death and has done some good deeds in life, I'm sure one will not be afraid of imminent death.

I think being in solitude and without the company of family during the last minutes of life will be one of the worst ways to die.

I am not afraid of dying or how I will die. God does not give us the spirit of fear, I have no fear of leaving here. God will not give me more than I can handle.

Just the how. I would prefer it to be painless. Hopefully quick enough that I didn't even know it was coming. A long drawn out illness full of agony would suck.
