Good for you for recognizing it's a problem. That's the first step. Sounds to me like you are definitely an alcoholic and it's so good you recognize it now and get the help you need. Alcoholism is an awful illness, but so many people who get help are able to live their lives without it and are so much happier for it. Alcoholism only leads to problems. AA is probably a good starting point...the place is full of people like you, from all sorts of backgrounds...its a very common illness. You may need to detox...speak to your gp about that. You say you can't quit, so you definitely need help with it...I don't think I've met an alcoholic yet that just quits without help. Good luck with it.

I myself went through the same problem, when I was 17-18, I finally stopped when i went to the hospital in an ambulance. Unfortnatly, most people say you have to hit "rock bottom" in order to change, and I can say if I didn't almost die, I wasn't going to stop. You should see a pyschologist who specalizes in addiction (most understand it) and read up on the subject if u want to admit your problem "quietly". But if u really wanna stop make that decision and dont let yourself talk yourself into doing it, i used to use excuses like "well, I can quit tomorrow, whats one more day" or "I'm really pissed off right now" sometimes even acting as iff others actions made me drink. So yeah, use your brain to outwit your urge, read up on it (it can actually be related to self esteem issues ie: needed it to not feel uncomfortable in public) and talk to proffesionals!

that is too much to drink, especially every day. I would talk to someone about it or contact Alcoholics Anonymous.
