A friend of mine has sworn off men 4ever so I'm doing a survey here.

She's young but has 2 take blood thinners 4 health problems & was told by many doctors to NEVER get pregnant. She can't get fixed -- doctors refuse 2 do it because she has severe (life & death) bleeding & clot risks if she ever has surgery.
Condoms can break & birth control pills would interfere with her blood thinners.
Her ex-fiancee and other men she's asked over the past 2 years said they would never have a vasectomy no matter how big a life & death risk to her or any woman, even tho a vasectomy's done quickly with a local anasthetic & low risk.

Would you have a vasectomy for a woman you like or love so you could have a relationship? Why or why not?

The guys she asked gave reasons like they may want 2 have kids some day, or it would make them less of a man.

I don't think any man should be forced into getting a vasectomy anymore than any woman should be forced into getting her tubes tied. People have rights, even male people ;-)
One day maybe she'll meet the right man for her who is already infertile for whatever reason or can't be pursuaded NOT to have a vasectomy because he wants to be with her so badly. Of course, vasectomies aren't foolproof either, so if she's content being abstinent, who says you have to have a man in your life in order to be complete?

Ahem... tough one... But here goes... Since she cannot have surgery and as you said condoms can break..... Why does she not try to have sex on her "safe days"? I am really sorry for her condition but even then there are ways to enjoy sex without dwelling much on the penetration thingy. Foreplay can go to great lenght to substitute good sex.
And it would be selfish to have your boyfriend to have a vasectomy. You never know how long would a relationship would last. And you cannot have anyone carry for the rest of their lives something they did for you when you are not with them.... At least that is what i think...

I would do it if, and only if, I knew that this was the person that I was going to be with for the rest of my life. Otherwise, I'm not going to throw the chance of me having children out the window. I don't mean to be rude, but it's the truth.

okay i have to sound off. having a vasectomy ISN'T EASY. it is a "biggie" no matter what you women claim. HOWEVER, having your tubes tied is very basic and just as easy etc etc etc. women need to stop asking the man to do something THESE WOMEN WOULDN'T DO FOR THEIR MAN-trying to treat a man like they are cats

i know i know....its life and death...oooooooooooooooh pleeeeeeeeeeeeeease stop using that excuse-fact of the matter MOST women aren't dying from this sort of thing. sounds like she's dating men who match her personality

selfish.

I would do it if I thought she was the one for me. I would only do it after getting married though, because it would be stupid to make a decision that important without careful thought.
