My son's mother just passed away. I'm heading back home to be with him (currently overseas). I am a part of his life and live less than 15 minutes away.

Have you had to deal with this? At 37 I find myself lost here. Other than being a good father what else can I do?

She had a heart attack at 38. Smoked like a chimney. We used to argue about this. Did not wish this on her though.

I can relate with loss, and the best thing is to just be there for him.

He has just lost a parent and the last thing you want, is for him to feel alone and lost.

You being there lets him know he still has you.

How dreadful!
You do not say how, so it is hard to look at this carefully....but you can just be loving and kind, to your son.He really is going to need you now.
You also do not say how old your son is?........but, I am deeply sorry for this loss....Just be understanding, it may take up to a yr for the boy to heal a little....seek help, and family if possible...
And! look after yourself. GOD BLESS.
