what do you do if you like a guy and think he likes you back, and you asked a friend to give him your number, when he already knows that you like him, but you didn't know that until just recently and have been saying hey to him and smiling and having eye contact and stuff... what the hell am i gonna do? i swear i am gonna die of shame. how am i gonna face him again?

Well, first of all, you are not going to die of shame. You'll be fine.
Can't you just ask him out on a date? If he says no, he says no. Although I doubt he will. Just see what happens. Eye contact and smiling are great, but that won't get you a date with him. You have to verbalize what you want. Just say, "I told (friend) to give you my number. Did you get it?" When he says yes, say, "Great! Call me any time!"

I'm a guy, and i've been on that other end of the position like your guy...

Just be yourself...but first, you gotta make sure that this guy is not the type who likes to disrespect girls around (a playa', or heartbreaker, or a jerk)..then, when you are really sure he's not taking you as a fool..move in..make him feel assured that you are not a playa..but not too agreesive now gal! you'll scare him away..open the door a bit, and let him do the work for you (he'll thank you, trust me)..a phone call would be nice..now that's a smart move for a beautiful gal like you...don't you agree? :)
