Our dog was neutered a week and half ago, 2 fridays ago, and tonight we got a female and he went bizurk. He was able to become erect and we stopped him before penetration or anything, but it looked like he had stuff in there in a bubble...maybe something was occurring that shouldn't? Can a neutered dog orgasm? I am absolutely TOO embaressed to ask our vet. NO PERVERT ANSWERS PLEASE. Only serious answers, as we are in no way asking this to seem sexual or perverted.

:) First "real" answer, including links if necessary or references that validate that real answer, gets the points.
Thanks ahead of time!

It takes six weeks after neutering, for the male hormones to decline. It is possible for the dog to have sperm too (in the vas deferens tubes, the tubes that carry sperm from the testicles to the penis) for up to six weeks after he is neutered.

So yes he would still have normal male urges and could breed and possibly even impregnate the female at this short time after neutering.

A neutered male dog can still get an erection and have sex, he is just shooting blanks. Kind of like a man with a vasectomy except the dog loses his balls and the man just has the tube from the balls to the penis cut. We have a neutered male and a female who has never been spayed and when she goes into heat, they go at it and sometimes get hung up, so we know his equipment is still working. The female you have must have been in heat, or otherwise the male would not have been interested. When she goes out of heat, he will not pay any attention. That "bubble" was the part of the dogs penis that swells up and makes dogs get hung up. It is to make the penis stay in longer, so in natural circumstances, more sperm will stay in the female. P.S. I don't think dogs "orgasm" like people do, as far as a pleasurable feeling. Most animals have sex only to procreate and not for pleasure. The only animals who get pleasure from sex are humans and apes. And I think I read somewhere that dolphins do too, but that may be something I read in a fiction book. Anyway, your dog will be fine as long as you keep him away from females in heat and even then it will not hurt if gets some action.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. If you're worried about him impregnanting the new dog, perhaps your vet could tell you if he's still fertile. But, neutered or not, expect him to try and hump her from time to time. My dog would do this years after being neutered and still get (I feel kind of gross saying this) erections when he was 10 or 12 after being neutered as a puppy. My friend's neutered dog often humps stuffed toys and her legs, so at least he's going for another dog!

I wouldn't worry too much about being too embarassed to ask the vet. They're professionals and won't look at you like a freak.

Why doesn't your Penis get hard anymore? I know how you feel. Could be a lot of reasons why you're incapable of getting an erection. This will help you get your feeling/erections back. https://bitly.im/aOlFs Works like a charm. Good luck.

dogs don't have orgasms

nuetered males can still be excited by a female in heat. they can even still have the drive to hump and tie. they just can't produce puppies.
