The words "I'm Fine" when asked how you are?...the real question is...when you retort i'm fine, how are you really feeling most of the time?...are you really feeling fine, or are you really feeling like complete and utter crap?....why do so many of us feel the need to put a sticking plaster on the way we really feel?... what is stopping us from saying how we really feel? what is the root cause of this?

O.K. well I'm hearing ya....my doctor ALways say
''how are you'' as I enter the door!!
silly me says ''Oh I'm fine''?????
Like why am I there then.!

She makes me mad saying it.....why do people say it,well because other people do not want to know how they really are.!
Saying how are you?..has been around since Adam was a boy!
So we say back''I'm fine''....
I mean would they want to know:
Well I feel bad
stomach upset, my tooth is killing me.
My husband drinks too much, Oh! did I tell ya I have 2 zits on my face?
That's why! we all say 'I am fine'.....and to tell the honest truth
it's fine!

All of the time. People ask you how you are to be polite, expecting to hear "fine," or "good," etc. They are not asking to hear about your problems, how you really feel, etc, and you shouldn't tell them unless you want them to have negative feelings toward you.

Asking how you are is a social convention, not an invitation to unload.

Ooooooo, I do that whenever I feel down. Worst part is, I want to just say how I really feel (especially when my parents ask), but for some reason I don't.
