Dogs have personalities just like we do. There is nothing wrong and probably nothing you can do to change their sleeping habits. Like humans, dogs can be lazy, or really energetic. It all depends on the dog itself, and it's all perfectly normal.
P.S. don't feed the dog chocolate like the one guy said... also, raisons are poisonous to dogs.

Some dogs are just sleepy it depends on the dog some dogs can be really sleepy like my maltese cross shitzu she sleeps alot but my jack russell terrior is really energetic. It just depends on the breed/type of dog so dont worry!!! there is nothing wrong with it!
P.S Dont do what that person said above chocolate can kill a dog!!

Take your dog to the vet. My family once owned two dogs. One was a German Shepherd and the other was a Samoyed. We knew the Samoyed was deaf and we thought that that was all that was wrong with her. But she was always sleeping. We saw this other Samoyed that lived down the street and this dog was very active. We still didn't think there was anything wrong with our Samoyed. We thought she was just lazy.

We eventually took her to the vet and found out she had a bubble in her lungs.

This eventually killed her.

It may also just be your dog's breed.

I gave my Dog away because he slept all the time.
I wanted him to have more of a life, so I gave him
to a Co-workers Son. I found out from the Guy
weeks later that the dog did a lot of sleeping at his
house to. :-(
I tried, and I still miss him.

NEVER FEED A DOG CHOCOLATE
Their heart is already beating fast. It could make
them have a heart attack.

My Shih-Tzu sleeps a lot too, but he usually wakes up around 3-4pm and want to go out for a walk. He's 9 now, and just recently my dad started giving him doggie vitamins, and it seems to have perked up my little Gizmo. Maybe you can ask your vet for some dog vitamins. Good Luck!

Feed it some peanut butter and/or chocolate. They love that.
