krishna was a reincarnation of rama, was he not? it would be similar to the jesus/yahweh connection in christianity. jesus is the son, but still not as powerful as the father.

Because Lord Rama eventhough he was a god, he behaved as a man. But Lord Krishna behaved as a God. He showed his powers in incarnation of krishna. In incarnation of Rama he showed us how to live like an ideal man. So obviously Lord Krishna has 16 arts and Lord Rama has 14 arts.

Lord Rama was not able to handle certain situations convincingly. He was able to handle the 'duty' part very well. But they are many emotions in our day to day life, which Lord Krishna has handled extremely well and given us good standards. The Bhagwad Gita that he has given on the battle field is truly remarkable. It convers all aspects of life and death. It answers almost all the questions we are likely to face in life. Lord Krishna is the next avatar after Lord Rama. so he has all the expertise of Lord Rama, plus something more, that is his appeal and expertise to handle unconventional situations logically and correctly.

Irrespective of what Karunanidhi thinks, in my understanding, Ram and Krishna were historical persons, although I'm not sure they were totally human. I've studied Indian Mythology for many years, and it agress well with Genesis chapter 6 where it says that Angelic beings came to live upon this earth. If Hindu mythology is understood from that viewpoint, its absolutely true. This is further corroborated by the findings of Zacharia Zitchin and VAn Daiken concerning civilisations in the Middle east.
