my tattoo got irritated and itchy with bumps and it also said this could happen on the box, does anyone have any ideas what causes this?

Was the tattoo fully healed when you dyed your hair? I find that hair dye irritates even the smallest lesion.

I have never heard of hair dye doing that before.
I guess it would be the ammonia, in the dye.
Next time try putting a thick lotion over your tattoo, protecting it from the dye.

Well I belive is because of the iron particles in the ink which expand under the skin due to the temperature.

I have several tats and I dye my hair often and I've never had that problem. Maybe you are allergic to something in the dye.
