Don't mess around and ask him if he likes you. Most guys, even if they do, don't know how to really respond when you're frank like that.

Make it smooth. Invite him to do something with you. Let the obvious do the talking! If he has anything for you, he'll be sure to follow it up with asking you out again soon.
