If so say why. I choose not to because it doesnt taste that great and it makes some people (and probably me if i drank it) act like idiots. I also dont want to be an alcoholic.

i chose not to. i think because i care too much about my body and i see it as quite pointless. i can still go out and have a great time even if i'm not drinking. alot of people are quite dependent on alcohol when they go clubbing.
i don't like the taste either, but then again those candy-drinks are dangerous because some of them are equivalent to 2.5 shots disguised by a load of sugar and flavourings. they taste like candy.
and i agree with you, i would hate to act like an idiot. i have too much respect for myself to allow something to make me totally lose control of what i do or say. i look at how drunk people act and it reinforces my beliefs to stay away from the grog. i have minimal respect for those who enjoy getting drunk.

I very rarely drink alcohol... it's because there really isn't anything that I like the taste of. The only time that I can honestly say I liked an alcoholic beverage was when I was at Friday's with my sister, and she was drinking this fruity drink -- I couldn't taste the alcohol at all, and I drank most of it! But with most other mixed drinks, I can taste the alcohol the more and more I drink it.

So I mostly don't drink it because I don't like the taste... but I've also seen my friends act like total idiots when drunk and I don't want to make a fool out of myself.

I choose to drink it and I enjoy beer. After a couple it goes down like water and is cheap. There's not much else to do in small town Iowa. We all act like idiots together, it is fun. Sorry if I sound like an alcoholic, I have had a few tonight!! Woo hoo!!

Hey, it is your choice. It used to scare me too, especially with alcoholism in the family, and then I got drunk, then I liked it, and then I learned my limits. The mystery/fear is over, it is what it is.

Before Christmas, I had a pack of beer, I downed it pretty quickly, and took a walk, and walked to a dark field and stumbled around, forgetting the hard semester, all the term papers I had to do, and just vegetated and looked up at the stars.
When you drink fast, the alcohol takes a while to get you, but when it does...
I sometimes have vodka, but beer is safe to me.

So if you don't want to drink, its ok. I can't drink beer with food anymore, just use it to get drunk. Alcohol does't taste all that good. Guess it is just escapism/fun.

Try it once, see if you like it, and move on. Peace.

I like to drink alcohol, but a majority of the time I choose not too.
This is because when I am sober I enjoy myself more. After one glass I start getting really quiet. Anymore than one glass and I start falling asleep, my hands get hot, and I start scratching them which causes eczema to appear.

Drinking alcohol does not automatically mean you will be addicted.

It is all about knowing how much you can handle, and sticking to that. Also try not to get sucked in to peer group presure.

Yes, I don't drink.

I don't drink because I don't see the point in doing so. I've tried wine, and didn't like it. My french friends tell me it's normal and with time I'll get used to it. I say it's pretty silly to force myself to like something that I didn't from the get go, especially when it's not something particularly good for your health, state of mind, or what not. So I don't drink, and in general, I avoid hanging out with people that drink a lot. I don't particularly enjoy that ambiance.

I don't drink, either. I hate the taste of alchol. And it doesn't do anything for me but make me a little sick to my stomach. I am not really afraid of becoming an alcholic under those conditions, but it would be another reason to steer clear of drinking.

I am a "Scotch Man" just straight with a "Ice Water" chaser. For those that not like alcohol I may suggest a "Strawberry Daiquiri" make your own; Blender the ice and just use frozen strawberries, go easy on the rum, or, whatever alcohol you want that make a daiquiri.

I chose not to drink because I grow up around of uncontrollable and unnecessary drinking and I don't want that for my son. My husband drinks a beer from time to time but my son is ALWAYS in bed.
