My boyfriend and I are recently in college. We have been dating for almost three years. But being together so long, some relationships get so comfortable together that they start to lose the romance and fun. I try coming up with ideas to get us out and do something fun together. He does his sweet talk by saying OK i'll try harder next time. Also everyday he'll wake up and decide to chill with his friends by staying up until 6am with his buds drinkin, going out to bars and never going to class. (He's a smart kid with a 3.9 GPA at college). Never once in the past year has he decided to wake up and take me out. I keep trying talking to him about the situation, once again he'll say I will try harder but never does. Should I stay mad at him and keep giving him that talks. What should I do to make him just have a day (just me and him) and try to bring the romance back? Any suggestions?

I do hang out with my friends...every day because of this. I don't call him anymore, I wait until he calls me, but that isn't until 3 am when I'm already in bed

Have you thought about preparing a date or some form of day together in secret...and then calling him and asking him to meet you somewhere so you can have the date? Sometimes it's best to try and catch your partner off-guard, if it just isn't "clicking," like your relationship seems to be.
You DO have a right to be upset though. It's a man's responsibility to make sure that his woman is physically and emotionally healthy. And seeing as you're asking for advice on how to spruce up the romance in your relationship...I'd say he's not very good at satisfying your desires anymore. The only alternative to him increasing the level of romanticism, is breaking up with him. If you continue to find that he is avoiding being romantic or sweet to you, you can choose to leave him and find someone who WILL be those things.
Unfortunately, there's no foolproof way to MAKE someone want to spend a day with you or go on a date with you. All you can do is present the information and let him design a reply that suits him. Then you can analyze that reply and decide if it suits you too or not. If it doesn't, you should just walk away and find someone else who has everything you're looking for.
Hope that all made sense.

dont give up coz you havent tried all options.first of all you have to invite him over for a serious talk and no hassles so make him come.sit him down download whatever is in your heart, let him know that you are not happy with his treatment and that you wount be a sidekick that he can turnto after he is drunk.he also need to realise that you need time togethe as lovers.dont hold anything back coz you will enb up wishing you did.if he cant accept that you deserve his time then its about time you moved on

If he goes out drinking with his buddies, but hasn't invited you out in a year, I think you need to rethink the relationship. My wife and I go out every 1-2 weeks and we have been together for 9 years.

Are you living with him? If you are, move out, because then its like you're married but without the legal committment. If not then still go and do something for yourself. He will miss you soon enough and people are always more fun when they haven't seen each other in a while.

girl - if you wait for him you'll be waiting forever- guys have no idea when it comes to women they think if they buy you something nice that excuses there arrigance towards us! NO if you want to do something nice orgaise it all your self. even if it come down to letting his mates know your up to something so there dont ask him to go out drinking all hrs of the night. once you've cracked the first pre-date do it every week . i recently have been threw this and now its like we just got together! so best of luck my friend.

Hmmm... sounds like you should give him a dose of his own medicine. Just start hanging out with the girls and wait for him to call you!
