It's not necessarily wrong. It's just kind of creepy. It's like having your birthday on the same day as a holiday. You're just plain cheated.

I know a couple whose last names sound almost the same except the first letter to the last names are different.... because it rhymes, most people I know think it's a perfect couple name.
Haven't really thought much of the first names. John and Johanna sound pretty different to me.. and the other does sound slightly the same (and perhaps a bit creepy and sound like you're dating yourself if you told a friend).
That's what I would think if I haven't dated anyone with the same name.... but you might be able to think differently if you have dated someone like that... so I don't know what to think.

No, there is nothing wrong with dating someone with a similar name or even the same name, like Teri and Terry. It's not the name that matters it's the person.

Obviously you mentioned opposite sex with the same names. For me absolutely NO.. there's nothing wrong for people with similar names to date each other because for me name is just a tag what is more important is the feelings towards that person, the convenience and the happiness she/he brings.

It's something quite trivial to worry about. Some people even date each other having the exact same name (i.e: Paris Hilton and Paris Latsis) and it's okay. I don't think you should reject someone just because their name is similar or exactly the same as yours. Lighten up =) If anything, that's kind of sickeningly cute!

I went out with a guy who had the male version of my name. I thought it was funny.
I don't think it's wrong, it can get confusing but there's nothing wrong about it.
If you're turning people down because they have a similar name to you then you're cutting your chances.
Turns out this guy was like 'Capt Darling' from 'Blackadder' so it didn't last. THAT was weirder than the name thing when I came to the realisation, haha.

I think it sounds weird but who are we to say if they like or love each other what does it matter.
My daughter has a teacher her first name is Karen she just got married last year and now her name is Miss Karen Karen. I think the last name is spelled different. But that is her name now!!!
