My point is that its just these days in the modern days people start to disbelive, and u ask urselves why, before 400 years back and beyound most if not all every single human actually believed, so why these days, maybe because of all this society, advanced things, etc, that shows how weak people are, this life is a test and God is testing peole if they believe him, but the non-believers are the weak minded.

I mean in the times affter Religion, people choose to believe, like now choose to disbelive, all because they are weak mind and belive things like plague, diseaes, wars etc, mean there is not a god, have u ever though its God's will & a test for us, to see how we react and have faith?, think about it, but i also beliver people believe they want, they all realise when there are gone from this life, thats all i can say.

NO, I have not noticed. Atheism has always existed. You are not well read if you haven't realized this. Do some research before posting a question/statement such as this.

It is simple. The discovery of evolution and the whole raft of other sciences have become much more advanced in the last 200 years. We now know (collectively) far more about the universe we live in than we have ever done throughout history. The biblical stories no longer stack up to reality. If someone presented you such a book today without you having prior knowledge of it, you would laugh at it, simply because it does not have any evidence to support it and it contradicts the universal laws of physics, biology, cosmology and so forth. Those laws are called laws because since they were theorized there has never been any reliable or demonstrable account of those laws being broken. There are however countless examples of them being obeyed, and you can even test them for yourself.
Recent studies have shown that the more distinguished you are as a scientist the more likley you are to be atheist. Conversley, the poorer ones education the more likely you are to be religious. This shows a direct and inverse correlation between religiosity and one's understanding of science and nature.
Non-believers weak minded? oh dear chap. What a fallacy you have going in your head! Atheists aren't the one's that need to worry about hell and a vengeful god in order to do the right thing. Atheists don't need the imaginary comfort blanket of a super fairy land to go to when they die. I could go on and on. I suggest you rethink your idea of weak mindedness. Believing fairy tales because your family and friends do is not a strength my naiive friend, that is the epitome of weak mindedness.
If you have any self respect you should start learning a little about the universe around you. You could start with something as easy on the reading as 'Brief History of the Universe' by Stephen Hawking, or perhaps you fancy something a little more challenging like 'Origins Reconsidered' by Richard Leakey. I won't suggest any Richard Dawkins biology based books because I don't think your religious mind could handle any of that just yet.
Before you go making assumptions about people's weak mindedness and proposing them as 'theories', I suggest you do a little research in future, it is far less embarrasing than being shown to be an idiot like this.
But you won't do that now will you? You are warm and happy with your infantile bible stories, and no-one is going to change that no matter how much science and evidence they have.
Good luck to you.

It takes a lot to be a non-believer in a believers world so I would not call them the weak minded. There may have been a few Atheist before now, but it would have been stupid for anyone to say so. I think people have greater access to ideas these days that were not available to the masses in earlier times. And people lived in one village their whole life. The church was the center of everyone's life, like it or not and with a lower level of education and probably IQ people didn't spend a lot of time thinking about such things. They were more superstitious too. It would have been bad luck to think that God didn't exist.

I think it is only the word Atheist that is modern, or at least it has become a more popular, general term these days. For as long as man has walked on this earth, there have been those that don't believe in God. In fact, I think that Christianity is a modern religion that started in Rome in about the 6th Century, or at least it was in the 6th Century that it was brought to England. Prior to that, Paganism was prevalent throughout England and Europe. Some Pagans acknowledge their own Gods and Godesses, or Deities, but these would be recognised by Christians as false Gods, I think.

Your stream of unconsciousness (!) writing is really amazing, but then, like most religious questioners on here, it is essential to get the maximum words down with the minimum thought or reasoning.
I am an atheist, and I am certainly not weak-minded. I rely on my own reasoning or the reasoning of logic and/or scientific proof to help me find the truth, and when I am presented with a lack of evidence, I accept it as just that - a lack of evidence. Religious people accept great swathes of rubbish (no apologies) on hearsay alone, and I won't accept any of that. Weakminded? - no. Independent thinker? - yes.
as for life being god's "test" - prove it. If he sets this test without clear and unequivocal presentation of the "rules", then, my friend, this god is less god-like than some humans I know, and merely an arbitrary, whimsical nonsense.

Why does that make people weak mined just because they dont believe, you could argue the other way that the belivers are the weak minded because they only belive in what they are told to belive in. At the end of the day what does it matter what people do or dont belive because nobody knows if god exsists or not because no one has ever come back from the dead to let us know x x x

There has always been atheists! They were killed, tortured, ridiculed, burnt....
People didn't publicise the fact that they didn't believe because it was dangerous!
Plus people have been going to school, they have access to information, facts and have developed the ability to question. It is easy to believe, it is hard to take a stance and face the world for what it really is.
God is not testing anyone. If that statement were true...then that god is a sad god indeed!

The time has very little to do with what people believe. There have always been people who have no need for a religion.
Unfortunately, 400 years ago, it was illegal to voice such opinions. You could easily have been thrown into prison and forgotten, if you were lucky, or put to death for the sake of your immortal soul.
Isn't it wonderful that we live in a time where your religious beliefs of lack of such, are no one's business but your own?

I think you are upside down in your" thinking?" try using some logic like the average IQ towers over the the quotient of times past . you are so stubborn or set in your ways that you are trying to squeeze a square peg in a round hole to no avail .Forget the superstitious belief as a tenet of logic and deal in facts if you can discern any at this point and you should see how backwards your ideology really has become.the main reason god is no longer held in esteem or belief is because we have knowledge at vast levels never before known to mankind hence canceling the susceptibility of superstitious belief in myth and gods for explanation to natural questions and understandings.
Peace out

Like every religious minded person, you accept what you are told without question, but in your case you have the hypocrisy to call people who think for themselves week minded. How can you call someone who chooses their own thoughts week minded?
The reason people no longer have religious beliefs these days is because of education. The more people are educated the less they believe in superstitious crap.
If you took time to study science, something that you can see and touch for yourself, you would soon become open minded.

I was raised as a catholic and was brainwashed by family a clergy alike. I was also taught everything else that went with it, from how to hate prods to what football team to support. The catholic faith is based on fear and hatred ( as are many other religions ), i am no longer a believer because i have my own mind, that does not make me weak, i grew up with very blinkered and small minded people....... just like you. Peace
