TB, or tuberculosis, is a disease caused by bacteria called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The bacteria can attack any part of your body, but they usually attack the lungs...
TB is spread through the air from one person to another. The bacteria are put into the air when a person with TB disease of the lungs or throat coughs or sneezes. Laughing, singing, or playing brass or woodwind instruments can also spread the germs in an enclosed space. People nearby may breathe in these bacteria and become infected.
TB bacteria become active if the immune system can't stop them from growing. The active bacteria begin to multiply in the body and cause TB disease. Some people develop TB disease soon after becoming infected, before their immune system can fight the TB bacteria. Other people may get sick later, when their immune system becomes weak for some reason. Babies and young children often have weak immune systems.
There is good news for people with TB disease! TB disease can almost always be cured with medicine. But the medicine must be taken as the doctor or nurse tells you. The most common drugs used to fight TB are:
* isoniazid (INH)
* rifampin or rifabutin or rifapentine
* pyrazinamide

The most common type is the pulmonary tuberculosis which is caused by an acid fast bacilli called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. This bacteria is transmitted through contaminated material like sputum, air droplets, etc., into a human host. Smoking exacerbates the condition. The diagnosis of M. TB is done through chest X rays and the positive identification of the bacilli in the sputum of the patient through acid fast staining methods.

TB is infected for i) lungs and also ii) For the large intestine of the human body. I would have told u much about these if u would have specified the type.In both the cases Govt is supplying the medicines for free of cost. In the second case the patient cannot eat properly his stomach will swell day by day. To test this, measure the stomach regularly.Immediately contact the Govt Doctor.

signs and symptoms includes cough, night sweats, low grade late afternoon fever, weight loss, loss of appetite. but you would know a definite TB if you go for chest x-ray. sputum test and PPD test are also some diagnostic tests. forget about undergoing PPD if you received BCG vaccine.
