Absolutely. Though it happens some places more than others. Obviously the worm has to get there somehow, which isn't something people usually go along with.

Most commonly it occurs with poorly cooked food. The food has worms (or more likely their eggs), you eat the food, and you get yourself a tapeworm collection. Some parasites of this nature have a blood-borne route of infection too, so it can happen sometimes if you have a pet with worms that a flea jumps in your mouth while you're asleep and you get the worms that way.

Typical treatment is to rapidly alter the environment of your digestive system so the worms let go. Home remedies include swallowing any number of repulsive things like a large wad of tobacco or coffee grounds. While this actually does work (my ex lived on a farm and got and treated worms this way), doctors have slightly more pleasant ways of doing the same thing. You end up passing live worms, which is kind of a gross experience too, I'm told.

All in all, if you're careful about your food and your pets you aren't likely to have anything to worry about, however.

Yes you can get worms, they have nothing to do with bacteria. They are not in your stomach, they live in your intestines. There are several diffenrent kinds of worms, the most common is the tape worm. You get worms by eating food or drinking water that has worm eggs in it, then they hatch in the warm moist enviroment of your digestive tract. They are very bad for you, they eat the food that you eat and take away your nutrition. They can grow to relativly huge lengths, up to a foot. If not treated they can kill you from malnutrition.

yes tapeworms can live inside your stomach, you can get tapeworms from eating unhealthy, or food with bacteria, yes, they don't cause much harm, they're just inside you, eating the food that you eat, which makes you hungry really quickly, they have special treatments, to get rid of them, they're not really a big deal, and won't hurt your body.
