I think they used to skip along at Mach 4 or so.

It can fly Mach 3.2+ and it can travel at 85,000 feet altitude.
It is the fastest airplane in the world! (3rd fastest overall!)

I have heard mach 5 in 3rd gear. When you drop the clutch in 4th gear, that baby takes off, though. Maybe mach 7 or more!
