no usually when u have connecting flights u stay within the secured area vicinity and if ur gate is at another terminal there should be a train. You do not need to get ur luggage again it will be transferred.

Your checked luggage should follow you to your final destination. Although sometimes luggage doesn't show up, but this is rare nowadays.

As for security, this depends on the airport. You may need to go through again, or you may not. I was on a direct flight from Sydney to London last year, and the plane refueled in Kuala Lumpar. All passengers had to get off with all their hand luggage, wait in the transit lounge for 45 mins, then go through security again to reboard the same plane.

It comes down to this .... whatever happens, will happen. Just go along with it and accept it without compaining, no matter how stupid their process appears to be. (Its their country, you gotta do things their way.)

I believe most airlines keep you within the same corridor/gate area to connect flights, especially if you're flying on the same airlines for all your trips. However, I just learned from my dad that in Philly, flying southwest airlines, he had to get off a plane, go out into the public area and down a different corridor to catch another southwest airline plane. But, any time I've had to change planes, I've never had to touch my luggage again, just the carry-ons. sounds like a long trip...wish you the best!

It depends. If it is within the USA then you don't have to re-check anything, but if it is an International flight then you might have to. Going into the USA or UK from an international flight you have to pick up your luggage and re-check them and go through security again.

If you are connecting to a flight with the same airline, you will not have to go through security again. If you have to change airlines and they are in separate terminals, you will have to go through security again. In Kansas City, Missouri, if you are on a Southwest Airlines flight that connects at this airport, you may have to go through security again. With Midwest Airlines, you will not have to go through a second time.
