Rahul hmmm

well the biggest change is i think in outlook

in ancient times there was no lack of space... houses and places all had huge huge courtyards etc ....

and now space is getting lesser..... so i guess the altitude or no. of storeys is where we tend to push.

so according to use best of the little space that is available things changed....

we used cement earlier and we still u use same.....
the only difference is now a fire retardant and paint friendly additives ... for height steel... how strength instead of stones lighter n stronger steel is being used....

1. For the same reason this year's shoes are different from last years: styles and taste.
2. New materials become available. Sometimes these are used to copy older styles - like marble being used to copy wood temples, but new materials allow construction of different forms like steel allows tall buildings with skeletons rather than solid stone walls and reinforced concrete allows flying wings of roofs.
