I was thinking about re-entering the work force to help them through college. Homeschooling has been a part of my life for so many years now that it will seem odd to not have kids at home to teach, and I was just wondering what plans other hsing moms have.

Once my kids are graduated I am going to go to work full time and help them pay for their college. I will start a savings account for them. I am hoping after they graduate college they will have me some grandkids and then I can help them home school their kids. I love to teach and find it to be the most rewarding activitity in my life. If you dont have a degree you could go back to school. I am getting ready to start a school online so I will have a degree when the kids graduate from high school. How old are your kids? How much longer before they graduate? Good luck in your adventurers!! Stephanie B

Well, I'm beginning to think that my homeschool will go on for longer than I ever expected. We adopted a little girl from China in 2005, and has been such an incredible experience, that we've decided to go back and adopt again.

Now that we've experienced the miracle of adoption, we may just continue adopting children. If we continue to homeschool, then I guess I'll be busy with that far enough into the future that I won't need to be concerned about life after homeschooling.

I did teach school, though, before I had kids. I could possibly go back to that someday. Or I may do some sort of volunteer work.

Good question!

I expect to be a teacher with a homeschooling school board. We have that here in Alberta. Teachers are hired by school boards to oversee homeschooling families--it's a requirement to homeschool.

However, my younger child won't be graduating for 11 years! lol. Unless he decides to go to high school, which still means another 8 years (high school starts in grade 10 here). My plans could change between now and then. :)

Say you get distracted through folk at school and residential education you may concentration and performance a quiet ecosystem. i'm domicile schooled, senior year, were for 2 years and my social existence hasn't replaced in any respect! I continuously do issues with my friends and do not get lonely. it really is so a lot more desirable. and likewise make a protection that at school your father and mom do not recognize what you do yet at domicile you won't be able to do undesirable issues.

I have a loooong way to go before I have to plan for that, but I imagine I will go back to work. What I will do, I have no idea, but I have a Master's Degree and I worked until I was a mother of 2. I guess I could find something....

I still have another 10 years or so, but I think it would be fun to have a job! I think I'd like to have a part-time job or teaching job, so I wouldn't have to work 60 hours like my dh does. If we both had that kind of schedule we'd never see each other, plus he trains for marathons also....The best part would be actually getting a paycheck for my work!!!

I'll live my life probably pretty much like I live it now. I like who I am, I like what I'm doing, and I'm not putting my life on hold for my kids. They get to share in my life as it is.

As it is, having two children with autism, I will never have a day where the kids are just gone. So, maybe that's why I decided not to rearrange my life just for them.

It will be a while before that happens for me but when it does i'd love to become a tutor, helping special needs kids. Its such a thrilling experience to teach a child and give them the 1 on 1 that they need and watch them thrive.

Learn to speak Irish, read, exercise, take classes (I'm learning pottery right now) volunteer, do calligraphy, travel. and I want to learn to play Irish fiddle and the bodhran, and maybe join a session group.
but those are all things I'm either already doing or hope to do while raising my kids, too.
