Young woman, no diploma, no job. Where should she go to get housing?

She applied, but did not receive any information. She got an appeal letter when she was not given disability for her problem. Is there an organization that helps people with this? She is not competent to go thru this alone, and I am not sure I would be able to help much.

Hello,
The first thing she should do is apply for SSI and Medicaid. She can do it by phone or online. By phone is best, as the Social Security people are very nice, very helpful, to tell her which route she should go. She will need the backing of a Doctor she has been seeing, to verify she has a mental disorder, what it is, what meds she is on, and that he doesn't think she is able to work, if that is the case. She gets a packet of forms to fill out, one form for her Doctor. In the meantime, she goes to her local Social Security office and applies for Welfare & food stamps. Then she has to enquire about Section 8 housing. Ifshe cannot live on her own, there is "community housing" for that. Wherever she is seeing a Doctor, sheshould be able to get a Case Worker, that helps her with all these things, as they know what all is available to her.
I hope this was of some help.
I wish her well! :)

She can apply for Section 8 housing. There are many housing discounts/assistance in specified or approved (if she's picking) housing areas, whether it's a condo complex, etc.

She can contact the closest welfare office or Social Security to apply.

ADDITION: yes, Sandra Dee has it. So many people answer so quickly!
