When 'Doubting Thomas' wanted proof, he got it. But we must have faith? What gives?

Moses also needed proof - he put out a fleece and asked God to make it rain, but keep the fleece dry. He got his answer too. I don't feel there's anything wrong with asking for proof - if God did it before, why can't / won't He do it now?? So ask for your proof - but keep your spiritual eyes & ears open for the answer.

Thomas recieved proof of the ressurection of Jesus. We have his and other eye witness reports. There are so many proofs of the existince of an all wise creator that anyone can be convinced. One overwhelming proof is conscience.

Every tiny isolated tribe, any where, at any time in history has had codes of conduct prohibiting incest, theft, adultry, and murder and the like. As if they all subscribed to some newsletter.

Some say there is no conscience because there are those who violate conscience and sometimes grossly. It is true the human conscience can be violated, but it is also true it is always absolutly harmful to do so.

An interesting note about conscience. German Nazis committed terrible offences against their own consciences. When they appeared before courts for their war crimes, they used the excuse that they were following orders. Superiors commanded themto do what they did. These were ordinarily "nice" german men and women. Many of these people were still condemned for their crimes why? The official finding of the court was that they violated the "higher" law of conscience.

There is nothing wrong with wanting proof. Any rational intelligent person would want that. I needed proof myself, and I got it, much to my shock. I wasn't asking for proof. I was happy being an Atheist. But the proof came all the same. It does say in the Bible, however, that those who don't need proof are more blessed because of their faith. That is OK. I am happy to sweep the floors in the household of God. He is real and one day you too may know it too.
Peace.

Look at it this way:

I don't believe in God because there is not enough evidence. Now let's say his existence was suddenly proven to me. I will then believe in God and worship him, 1. because now I know he's real and 2. I know that if I don't, I'll go to Hell. Anyone who does it my way is rather spineless in my opinion.

This is why a person can't accept God on proof. If I knew he existed, I'd do it to save my skin, but I think the way it really should happen is that someone simply feels in their heart that they want to accept God, and do it out of spiritual love.

This must be why God refuses to give proof of his existence, and instead insists on waiting for people to make the choice with their hearts and follow him out of true FAITH.

You are the proof.

The human blood cell, the simplest form of life within us, is incredibly more complex than any technological system we can ever invent. These aren't my words, they're the words of an M.D., Ph.D. professor at my school that gave us a guest lecture in my biomedical engineering class.

Now, certainly, we wouldn't believe that a simple computer could be created without intelligent design; what about human beings? We would definitely have to be created by an Intelligence (aka GOD).

We are more blessed if we have faith and don't need to see. Jesus told Thomas, "you believe because you see, but blessed are those who do not see, but still believe."

I always wanted proof about god. I got it. I believe. I am not to
sure about you must have faith. I just plain old believe in god, jesus and the holy spirit. I do not talk to my family or others about
god. I can tell you that if there is a judgement day He will know
that I have always believed. Do not let other people influence you
by there words. If you believe then you believe. No one else needs know or even care. It is your life and your spirit that is
number 1.

Nothing, unless you're a rich preacher trying to make his next payment on his new Mercedes, then you want people to just believe and fork out cash as quickly as possible, so you rant and rave about how non-believers are going to suffer for eternity. I am going to get thumbs-downed for this, but I'd go so far as to call Christianity, especially Mormonism and any other sect where 10% tithing is MANDATORY, the greatest money-making scam of ALL TIME. Essentially, you are selling timeshares for a place that doesn't exist and the people can't bi'tch about being duped or sue you for fraud, because they can't cash in until AFTER they're dead. Then, it's too late to do anything about it.100% Genius!

because of the fact theists have hijacked the word 'faith'. they have confidence that faith is a high quality fairly than an outlook. All it skill is perception with none data which in case you think of roughly it is not a competent foundation for recognition of dazzling claims. dazzling claims require dazzling data. you assert 'i'm not totally denying that God is actual' yet would not or not it is greater appropriate to declare 'i'm not totally denying that God might desire to be actual'? God might desire to be yet there is only NO reason what so ever to think of he / she / it / they are.

God sets the rules - and according to Him, He has given you sufficient proof. See Romans 1:18-32

Nothing at all wrong with you needing proof; but I'm sure you are also intelligent enough to have figured out that you can happily live your life without a god, if you take this stance. Good for you, you are free of God. Happy? Good.

You wouldn't have asked this question if you didn't have doubts, perhaps the doubts are your answer.
