I'm a sophomore, and me and my boyfriend started dating three weeks ago. He works at steak-n-shake. So we get out of school at 3, and he usually goes into work at like 5:30 or 6:00. And he doesn't get off til 9:30 or 10:00. And that's everyday, except for the ONE day a week that he has off. Like I said, we've been dating for three weeks and we have yet to go on a date and we've only hung out once (with his youth group on new year's eve). He calls me usually every day, but that's really not enough. He appologizes for how much he works, and he realizes that he works too much, but he never does anything about it. I really like him, but I need a guy that's around more than that. What should I do?

You are such a loser! Do you realize that this guy has his priorities in order. Why do you need all of this unwarranted attention? Ask your parents to get you a puppy, this way you will have something to dote your affection on and not need very much in return. Think about keeping your new beau, come summertime, he may have a car and will have time to date, seeing that school will be out. But if you wont listen to my advise you will not have a good boyfriend, and maybe even miss out an opportunity that you will regret. Next year, your boyfriend may be able to take you to school every morning, because he works all the time!

You'd say the complete opposite if your boyfriend attended school and didn't work but you want him to work so that he spends money on you. He's doing the best he can as a man should do. Give him some slack. He shouldn't apologize to you for working so much. That's good that he's in a youth group with you. It could be worse! Leave the man alone and quit acting so you. Do something for yourself.

Is there a reason he's working so much? Does he have to save up money for college, a car, etc.? Chances are likely that there is a reason behind it, and unfortunately it would be selfish of you to ask him to cut back his hours - and therefore earn less money - for you. It might be best to find someone who doesn't have that kind of responsibility. It sounds like he's doing his best by calling you every day, but it doesn't seem like that makes you happy.
However, if you really like him and want to work through it, talk to him. I'm sure he doesn't work seven days a week and has part of at least one day available. Ask him about it, and see if he can set aside a specific time for you once a week, for instance, Saturday nights.

I don't want to be harsh but be glad he has a job and sitting over your house eating up all your food. Be glad that when you talk to him only thing he wants is phone sex. Be glad that he apologizes for working to much, when he really doesn't have to because that's survival. Be glad you have someone who does call at least once a day. I think you should find a hobby. He can't be up your behind all the time so please be patient with him. Umm....didn't you say that ya'll have only been together for 3 weeks? Right. Chill out and be grateful

Your boyfriend sounds like a great guy who is very responsible. He has bills to pay and he is doing what he needs to do. If you can't deal with the fact that he can't spend a lot of time with you, then maybe you should tell him that you two should try a relationship later on when you both can agree to a schedule. The fact that he calls you every day is good - he cares. Don't make him feel guilty for doing what he needs to do.

Apply for a job, where he works, go home with him at 10pm
and date him every week or so, on that one day off. Fast food places and restuarants have their busy sesaons and their busy days and or busy weeks. At the resturant I go to with a group from church, every sunday, some sundays are busier than others. If there was a way for my group and I to know when the usual place would be really busy, we'd go to another restuarant each busiest sunday. So, soon as you can, go get and fill out that application and turn it in, with your resume!

GOD some people just want it all. What if he was a leech and sucked all your money out of you. Be glad his working and learning responsibility now. At least he has some get up and go about himself. He has a job and is in school. Sounds like a keeper!

Leave him i know that it is hard but i used to go out with a tour guide and game ranger had he never had time for me it is not that he didnt try he just couldnt so i end up looking for comfort and attention at other places which is wrong. We ended it after 2years but still are very good friends. Dont try something you cannt win rather leave it now and prevent all the pain you'll need to go through at a later stage

If your unhappy with it break up. Youve only invested 3 weeks in this so its not a huge loss yet.
Someday however he will make some lady a hard working husband who provides. Hes ambitious.
