Have your cockatiel examined by a veterinarian, because something is wrong. Cockatiels don't become sad from laying infertile eggs, usually when a cockatiel lays infertile eggs they toss them out of the nest if a human doesnt remove them, and then will start laying a new clutch. Female cockatiels kept alone lay eggs which of course, are infertile. Make sure your female cockatiel has cuttlebone and a mineral block, it takes a lot of minerals from the female's body to build an egg and if a female cockatiel isn't fed a good quality of food with vitamin and minerals included in the food and also given cuttlebone and a mineral block, she can easily become deficient in minerals and become weak from the loss of minerals from her own system. Egg binding is a common problem in a bird whose body is depleted of minerals, a condition where a hen has an egg inside her that she cannot get out. Egg binding is an emergency condition requiring immediate veterinary care (in your case, egg binding is unlikely to be the problem because an untreated eggbound hen rarely survives more than a day or two at the most).
Also be aware that birds do not show illness until they are so ill that they are in danger of dying. This is natures way for a bird to hide the fact that it is ill, from predators as long as possible. By the time the bird acts ill to where a human can see something is wrong, that bird is seriously ill.
Your hen needs veterinary attention as soon as possible.

nicely i might elect greater factor as long as he's not huddled on the backside of the cage or in a nook or snezzing or has a runny nostril or is weezing i think of he's only miffed. My cockatiel didnt try this he only fell asleep after reason he became drained from squaking and shifting and attempting to flee...My cockatiel became discern raised so I had handy practice him on my own which incredibly strikes a bond.....If hes not hand knowledgeable attempt guidance dont do undesirable renforsement only reward him whilst he does what you have chose....attempt getting toys or millet or treats a handle could be as much as a bite of egg or apple or a head scratch in my birds case he loves dozing interior the solar.... desire this facilitates and good success!!

A beak that grows at an accelerated rate is a sign of fatty liver disease. She sounds ill: by the time birds exhibit symptoms of illness it's often too late. Get her to an avian vet asap.

I was worried about mine after I took her eggs out, but she didn't even seem to notice. I did take the nest out of her cage and she quit laying eggs. Things are back to normal. I'd have yours checked out if she continues. BTW Mine likes to sit on the bottom sometimes, too. I do think sometimes it feels better on their feet.....

How old is she? She might need a companion! If you don't want to breed, you can get a same sex bird or a budgie (they can live with them). If you aren't against letting nature take its course, get her a Mr. Bird!

Please take her to a vet that specializes in bird (Avian vet). Your bird needs to see a doctor, just as much as a person would.

She could be egg-bound (very serious), have mites, or..... heaven only knows what!

Please, if you love your pet and are a caring person, take her to a vet.
