For about the last year and a half, any time I run more than 1/2 of a mile I start gagging uncontrollably. Deap breathing helps a bit but it doesn't stop it. It doesn't seem to be getting better the more often I run, yet it doesn't happen when I do any other type of exercise. This happens in any weather. I've never vomited so far but I am getting to be quite a spectacle in my PE class! I really don't know what to do, and I have a teacher who just tells me to go to the side and if I throw up then I throw up. Thank goodness I haven't, since I am extremely phobic of it. He won't give me any advice. Will eating/drinking more/less before class make any difference? Thanks so much!

I am 14 years old and weigh about 102 lbs. I am naturally a very small boned and lean person, and certainly I am a prettty average runner (7:30 - 8 minute mile). I have never been diagnosed with asthma. Really I always thought asthma just means it is hard to breathe, but I am actually gagging.

Drinking too much water right before you run can certainly cause you to gag. If you have to run at 2pm (for example), only drink a very small amount of water after 1pm. Make sure, however, that you are well-hydrated and have been drinking adequate amounts of water all morning, as well as the day before your run.

If your urine is yellow when you pee, you are dehydrated and need to drink more water. The darker yellow it is, the more dehydrated you are. Being dehydrated when you run can also cause you to gag!

Also, you shouldn't eat within two hours of a strenuous run, because that can also cause you to gag. On days you have to run, avoid having heavy foods for breakfast (like oatmeal), and although it sounds like a good food choice, never eat bananas right before you run. The extra sugar, starch, and burst of potassium can cause stomach upset when you exercise. Your best bet for breakfast on days you need to run is to have oranges and an egg-white omelet. This gives you a light, healthy, protein-packed breakfast that won't make you gag when you run later.

Happy running! Hoo-yah!

I'm now not a gag bit fan, however I am one of the crucial few on YA who detect special horses react to special bits. Not all horses paintings good in a realistic snaffle. There are 1000's of bits considering that of this. Of path coaching is wanted, however side of coaching is discovering the tack that works satisfactory for the pony I do not suppose a martingale is known as for. I might check out an entire cheek snaffle for a even as. See if the further stress offers you extra manage. After that I might keep in mind a kimberwick with a low port. This bit would require coaching the pony to have an understanding of it greater than the entire cheek Just my two cents

Sounds like your gag reflex is too strong. Another reason why you would be gagging could be due to your body not conditioned to running or exercise. Overexerting your body can cause gagging and vomiting.

You need to consult your physician. Your blood pressure could be causing it.
