I switch back and forth between glasses and contacts. They are fairly easy to put on and take off. And with the right pair, you will not feel them. Since I have allergies, I do not always were my contacts as my eyes are irritated when the allergies are acting up. Your optometrist will help you decide which pair is best for you as their are several types available. He should let you try a pair for a few days to a week to become used to them before you make your final decision. As for any risks, make sure sure your hands are clean when handling the contacts and use the chosen contact cleansers as directed only. Make sure you keep re-wetting drops on hand in case your eyes become dry. And always keep a pair of glasses as back up in case you lose a lens.

Contact lenses are perfectly safe for most people and you cannot feel them once they are in your eye. It takes a while to get used to, though. Most optometrists recomment you start by only wearing them for something like 3 hours in a day. Then you increase the amount of time each day, until you can wear them all day. So if you're going to get them, make sure you have enough time to be comfortable with them before you wear them on stage! Good luck with your band!

I started wearing them in the 7th grade, and wore them for about 8 years until I stopped when I had lasik surgery a few years ago.
Contacts are great, and each day get more and more comfortable. You really don't feel them once they're in. Putting them on and taking them off takes a little practice, but nothing anyone can't learn. They don't hurt or anything. Go to your eye doctor and ask for a free trial pair. Then you can decide if you like wearing them or not before buying them.

Contact lenses are really hard to get on--at first. It took me a couple of hours to get them on. But once you do it, and do it every day, its really easy. I would recommend wearing them only half of the day. If they are soft-brand lenses, then they feel like you aren't wearing them at all. If you have dry eyes, then you might notice some irration. Overall I'd say, go for it, I love mine.

Contact lenses are small plastic discs shaped to correct an eyesight problem such as nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. These are called refractive errors. They may also be used by people who have had surgery for cataracts.
Contacts are placed directly on the eye, where they float on a film of tears in front of the cornea. Correct design and fitting of the lenses are essential for comfort, safety, and accurate correction.
Improvements in contact lenses have made them more comfortable and easier to wear. In the United States, 29 million people wear contact lenses; most wear soft lenses. For these people, contact lenses offer a relatively safe and effective way of correcting vision problems.
Several types of contact lenses are available to correct nearsightedness. Contact lenses are needed after cataract surgery if an artificial lens cannot be implanted in the eye
Minor but bothersome side effects of contact lenses are common. However, the overall risk of infection and other vision-threatening complications is low.
Problems sometimes caused by wearing contact lenses include:
Dry eyes.
Problems with the cornea, such as swelling and hazy vision caused by decreased oxygen to the cornea (hypoxia), corneal scratches and scrapes, changes in the cornea's shape, or infection of the cornea.
Allergic reactions to contact lens solution.
Deposits on the lenses, which may make the lenses less comfortable and increase the risk of infection (deposits are rare with hard lenses).
Eye inflammation.
Eyelid inflammation. Inflammatory bumps can form under the eyelid, making it uncomfortable to wear contacts.
Some problems are more common with certain types of lenses. You may be able to avoid some problems by cleaning your lenses more often, not wearing your lenses overnight or, in
the type you wear

Contact lenses are a really great choice. I have worn contacts for about 9 years. They dont bother me and I sometimes forget that I wear them because you cant feel them. The only reason you would feel them is if your have something in them. You will notice a great change in your vision with contacts in. Dont be worried just do it!

there are risks and they are a ***** to put in. The risks are infection depending on the type that you get. If you get the ones that you leave in, you run a higher risk of getting infection.
