Just an observation I have made over the years and not saying that it's like this for everyone but it happens a lot.

That's kinda a funny question. Perhaps it is because trying to find someone with the EXACT same skin color, hue, darkness/lightness, etc. is near impossible. So, by default, somebody has to have the darker skin. I'll bet however that those individuals you speak of chose partners based on love, not skin color.

By the way, my wife is darker than me. I didn't choose that specifically, I fell in love that way.

My mother and I once discussed this. This happens all the time. Even in my family and even the men who ask me out me. The lighter skinned men approach me ten times more than the darker ones. I think people just mostly desire something different. I think it's great. This makes things balanced and the world isn't so boring and predictable.

it could be the desire to be more "black." Have darker babies. OR it could be that thas just who they love or want to be with if darker or lighter.
