what hour of the day should I use my soft box out side?
And should I put it in direct sun or shade?

I am assuming you are speaking of these soft cubes used to shoot product photography and not a softbox for strobes? Anyhow, I would shoot at high noon, or at least when the sun is at its highest point. Typically you wouldn't shoot with this type of lighting, but these types of boxes work to soften light, and minimize shadows. For this reason I would avoid shooting in the shade as this box already works to soften the light. However, I am not certain about the quality or material of the softbox cube you speak of so if you are shooting at high noon and you find huge contrast between your shadows and highlights, then I would suggest shooting when the sun is lower.

As above, I agree that you need to shoot in the sun when it is directly overhead.... however other times of day would have interesting effects on the play of light and shadows.

Edit this Q and give more info as to what you are doing or email me.
