Galatians 3:28

"In Christ's family there can be no division into Jew and non-Jew, slave and free, male and female. Among us you are all equal."
(Message Bible)

Yes it says the man is the head of the household...that is talking spiritually. Means the man is the one to pray over the kids and all that. Group prayers must have a leader to initiate and guide.

It also says this of women and wives "She is more precious than rubies; nothing you desire can compare with her." Proverbs 3:15

So why do you say my G-d's word is biased toward women? That really hurts me. I can't imagine how G-d feels when people twist His words into something it is not. He LOVES Women! And those who abuse women will feel His wrath.

Any thoughts? Has this cleared anything up? Changed any minds?

Blessings to you all

Wives, submit yourself unto your husbands. Husbands, love your wife as Christ loved the Church. Christ diied for the Church. Christ worked hard for the Church. Christ put the Church first. Christ thought more of the Church than he did of himself. The burden is on the man. Don't expect your wife to be submissive, if you are not willing to do the above things for your wife.

along the way to suit & fit Constantine who wroat it, the bible and King James orthered it. And did you know that @ one time Constantine did not want to fineshed for what ever reason but he
and the king have a hard time then James persueded him and it
was done. The Bible or the most discrimenating book where woman is Conserned! it protrated men as profits and women are
Hores, Prastetudes, Conquebines, and dissevers, Becaues is a woman call Eve who caue Adam to eat that fruit what every fruit
thet was. So you see one have to use there computer that the
Creator give to them that's there brain, al tho most people do not
think because there leader think for them. Those are the followers &. the most people in the hold wide world are followers
who like I say do not have to think. I do own a Bible, My late Father & late Mother, He was a dekond, & mother was A sunday

A women is suppose to be in submission to her husband, but her husband is suppose to love her as Christ loves the Church. Men are not superior to men, it's just that women have a place. And so do men. Men are suppose to provide for the household and women are suppose to be caretakers at home. I don't mean that she can't work, but I would rather stay home than work myself. But I'm not married. The woman was made for the man and the head of every woman is man-Corinthians. I think a woman can be as smart as a man, in some cases if not smarter. I've heard that the Bible says that He doesn't look at gender. The Bible also says that he suffers not a woman to have authority over the man. That may be talking talking about in the Church world. Such as being a pastor, but I don't want to say for sure without knowing. A woman can talk in a Church for what if she is Prophecing, this is talked about in Corinthians I believe. But they shouldn't disrupt Church, but neither should a man! a woman is suppose to be chaste, but a man has things he is suppose to do likewise. In the end, all that make it to Heaven will have their rewards, and a man's won't be better (or worse) than a woman's if they make it to Heaven. This is just out Earthy life, then the saved will be given a santified body- men and women. God loves the women like he does the men. Men are not suppose to make their wives their slaves.

Well .. the bible is choosen words put down by people that were written about 300 years after Christ's death..All the books aren't there.some were rooted out and some added and its been translated many times over the years..The christians of early faith use text translated the way the saw fit to control..as in the days of the witch burnings and suck..Basically the bible is a general guide line for living right but alot of it has been misinterpreted.I hate to be the bearer of bad news with many devout christian people that may or may not believe how important a womans role is in the religous world but I can tell you that many women supported christ with money and donations to help him spread the world ,and many spread the word themselves and many gave so that it could be.. as it was done in the early days and has been done for centuries but well its kind of weird that has been omitted from the bible and other critical facts as well..I think that you should just go with the basics and believe that right is the correct way to go and wrong the wrong way to go and then as far as equal rights beliefs ,look into your heart and you will know that there was equality and women were thought upon as more valuable than men.. There have been many wars fought over just this agenda.. brother against brother friend against friend and people against another people over women so you tell me where they stand in importance..

David,
I really enjoy reading your questions and answers. YOU always bring out GOD's WORD in a very understanding and enlightening way! I hope that you continue to send out your input on such matters. It is greatly appreciated. The responses that you have are also very good. I have nothing to add at this time.

I have preached several sermons. I am NoT a preacher, merely a Christian husband and father of three. I love the Lord. He is my savior and I continue to read, study, and obey GOD'S WORD each and every day. If you have not preached a sermon or two then I believe that you would be great at it and might make a difference in other's lives. Keep this in mind. Have a great week.
Thank you,
Eds

One reason would be the answers given to a question an hour or so ago ... "Why do Christians think women should be subsvervient to men?" One of the answers (from a pastor, I believe) was as follows:

Every company (especially a company of "2" where there can often be "tie votes") needs a CEO to break the tie. As long as the husband "loves the wife as Christ loves the Church and gave Himself for her" - then the wife, by God's creation Order, needs to obey her husband in all godly admonitions.

It works for my wife and I and all of the Christian couples I have married. I have NEVER had one of the couples I have married get a divorce. Thanks be to God.

Never read the part about "wives, be submissive to your husbands"? You're proof texting. Your Proverbs text is also from the Old Testament. The overarching message was that women were to keep quiet, not speak in church, and as I recall, your Galatians passage was in reference to heaven, not earth. .."heirs to the promise." (Gal. 3:29)

You're going to have a hard time convincing your fellow biblical Christians that they should have voted for the equal rights amendment. Christianity has a long tradition of keeping women barefoot and pregnant.

This has cleared up nothing for me. The Bible treats woman like second class citizens. Paul's message is one of misogyny and the OT on the whole is just as bad.

You are supposed to listen to the OT and the NT says so but I will play in your court. Is it really that easy to pick and choose in Christianity?
"A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I don't permit a woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she must be silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner" (I Timothy 2:11-14).

"If they become tired or even die, that does not matter. Let them die in childbirth, that's why they are there"
Martin Luther

"As in all the congregations of the saints, women should remain silent in the churches. They are not allowed to speak, but must be in submission as the law says. If they want to inquire about something, they should ask their own husbands at home; for it is disgraceful for a woman to speak in the church." (I Corinthians 14:34-35)

"If a man marries a woman who becomes displeasing to him because he finds something indecent about her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house, and if after she leaves his house she becomes the wife of another man, and her second husband dislikes her and writes her a certificate of divorce, gives it to her and sends her from his house, or if he dies, then her first husband, who divorced her, is not allowed to marry her again after she has been defiled" (Deut. 24:1-4).

The idea behind women submitting to their husbands was that men were the spiritual leaders. The idea would be, he would follow God and she would follow him. (basically).

The truth is, God calls us to die to our wifes and to forget our desires and fulfill theirs. We are no longer to think of ourselves as individuals, but united together as one in spirit and purpose.

Matthew 19:4-6
4"Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' 5and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? 6So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."

Ephesian 5:22-25
22 Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
