This question is directed towards people who aren't Christian obviously. Not only atheists though either.

It is offensive to hear Christianity is the only way to Heaven. It's arrogant and absurd.

I'm only offended when it is spoken of in a proselytizing or self-righteous way. If someone tells me that their church choir sang really nice the day before, then that's fine. If they talk about going to a church social, that's fine. If they even say something about having a lot of people in church, that's fine. But once they start pressuring me to attend, they've crossed the line. I know the church is there. If I want to go, I'll show up. I don't need a Christian acting like an Amway salesman.

I am a Pagan and Proud.

I am only offended when i am classed as evil, or a Satan worshiper. Or when people dont respect my point of view because of my own chosen path.

Otherwise i have no problem with Christianity.. I was raised Catholic before i came to choose my path now.
So i have taken the time to learn and accept Christianity for what it is..

I can only wish that some of the bigotry shown to me and my belief was less, and that some would at least have some knowledge of what my faith is before they slander me with hatred words.
It only shows me how small minded some people can be.
And how they dont respect anyone that isnt the same as them.

Blessings ALD

Christianity, as in the message of Christ and Christians, no. Misguided applications of law, corrupt religious authority, religion mixed with politics, religion mixed with questionable beliefs about women, minorities and gay people in order to support an extremist agenda, yes. Those beliefs are not Christian. They are the beliefs of despots, zealots, racists and such. That is a psychological mindset, not a religious problem.

I am atheist/agnostic.

I am not offended by Christianity in general. I don't have a problem with people talking about God, Jesus, religion, or what have you. What I do have a problem with is when people try to force religion on me. For example, singing God Bless America at a baseball game. I understand the sentiment, but when you consider that about 13% of American's are atheist plus those who are not Christian, I think it's wrong to do something with such religious overtones in a public setting.

And while we're on the topic. I am not one who would go out and file lawsuits or try to pass legislation for things like removing "In God We Trust" from our money or dropping "Under God" from the Pledge of Allegiance, but when the discussion comes up I can't help asking why we need those things.

With regard to the Pledge, it only had the words "under God" added in the 1950's during the McCarthy witch hunt to separate Americans from the godless communist. When it was originally written in the late 1800's (by a priest or minister) the words under God were not included. One of the issues I have with including "under God" is because it essentially says our nation depends on a God - but would it mean our nation was invalid if God was proven not to exist. Also, as someone who does not believe in God, why should I be forced to acknowledge his protection to swear allegiance to my country. For the Christians, I ask you to turn the phrase around and ask how you would feel if the Pledge said "without a supreme being" or "without God or even "under Satan".

The thing is, removing "under God" or "In God We Trust" doesn't diminish the faith that Christians have, it merely eliminates something that alienates 20% or more of American citizens.

Only when it's spoken of as a slam against the rest of us. It's offensive when people use it to put themselves up on a morally high petastal when they don't know anything about the non-Christians they are talking against..

hmmm. no

Sometimes there are certain things that are said amongst Christians that are upsetting. Often times, it can be a little amusing, but there is a part of me that is sad sometimes.
