I have fibro to. You can try the Fibromyagia association they have there own website...They may have a list of docs in your area...Also see if there is a local support group, they will have a list to...With fibro, there is no cure and a lot of doctors, because they cant do anything to really help you other then give you meds, get burnt out from seeing you...Only you can do for yourself...Exercise is important, it the whole use it or lose it. You have to keep busy to keep your mind off the pain, don't dwell on it...You know when you wake up in the morning you will be in pain and also when you go to bed, its the same everyday. Learning to live with disease and not letting it control your life is important. Your in control and keep trying to do the same things you use to, i do...I worked as a firefighter with it, seeing others in pain and worse off at that moment differently help me no think of my pain...If you don't work, try volunteering some where. If you sit at home and do nothing, you will waste away...
Check with a physical therapist to see with the other stuff you have what is safe for you to do...

Yes, "unfortunately I do.. I was diagnosed about 10 yrs ago, with Fibromyalgia..When my symptoms were mild, meaning I had 2-3 "Flares" a month ( debilitating) -Mine became Chronic about 2 yrs ago. I had almost constant pain of 6 or above, mine is mainly my low back , around to my hips and my legs. I have had migraines that usually last 2-4 days. If I sit for 30 minutes I cannot hardly get up and move, it takes about 2 hrs in the morning before I am up and around, and that is with my meds. I completely understand how miserable you are. I have Degenerative Disc disease as well.
Now let's get on with the good news... When my Primary doc said I needed to find a Rheumatologist that specializes in Fibro, I took out my phone book ( I was also new in town and didnt have a clue) and looked in my area which is Tempe Az. I wanted a small office, not one with a hundred docs in it. I only made a few calls, asking each if their doc specialized in Fibromyalgia. Dr Carolyn Pace.!!!
SHE IS WONDERFUL !! You wont be disappointed. Here is her appointment line number 602-347-0873, her office is 480-456-6561. Call the office first and talk to one of the girls, tell them whats going on and that you would appreciate an appt as soon as possible. Then call the appt line and let them know you are a new patient and need to see her asap. Of Course depending on your insurance, your reg doc may need to refer you first.
You didnt really say how or when you found out, maybe your not satisfied with your present doc situation...some still think it is ALL IN OUR HEAD. There are still a very small percentage that understand the full scope of Fibro, and Dr Pace is AWESOME. Hope this helps, you'll be in my prayers

I have fibromyalgia myself and is almost impossible to find a doctor who specializes in its treatment. The best I have found is a doctor who is an expert in pain and its management.
Have you contacted your local medical association and asked if any doctors specialize in your ailments? I know some doctors specialize in treating arthritis they are called rheumatologists. You should see if you have any of them in your city or town. Best wishes to you.

I also have fiberonymalgia, osterporsis, dignerertative disk disease, and my heart goes out to you. You will need to find a good rumatologist they are the ones that can help you. I am not sure of the spelling.
