I do have medicare, will it pay for it? Also how long will I be in the tube? WebMD says could be up to 2 hours, friends say less tha 5 minutes. I am having my lower back and right leg done.

I am a nurse. I think your friend has a CT scan confused with a MRI. Ct scans are very fast and take a few minutes.
MRI's take substantially longer and you are put inside a very small tube and they can take over an hour. Usually, they put on some nice music for you to listen to while your in their. If you are clausterphobic, you need to tell your MD, so you can be given some sedation.
Yes, medicare will pay for the MRI.

Probably an hour or more from start to finish.

Medicare will pay a major portion of the bill. Whether the hospital will make you pay the remainder or just write it off depends on your financial situation and the policy of the hospital.

It's a CT scan that is over rather quickly, not an MRI.

roughly up to an hour and medicare will pay for those MRI since it is medical necessary
