Why does she say you owe her that money? In the 9 months you lived there you gave her $4500, cooked, cleaned and childcare? You should write down an itemized list that would include:
Rent
$500 per month for 9 months = $4500
$ cleaning (check and see what a service would have cost then
$ cooking - well, you might just give her this one as a freebie
$ childcare - what would she have had to pay
Add anything else in that you feel is just but not petty.
If this doesn't work, then you'll just have to live with her being mad. It is her loss (and probably yours if you don't get to see her and the kids). Hope this can be worked out. Good luck.

A deal is a deal. Did you and your sister have something in writing to close the deal? If not, then you owe her nothing. Or, you can write her a letter asking her for a copy of the written document that contains the $3,000.00 you owe her. If she can produce it, then come up with a payment plan, like $20.00 a month until the debt is paid. Money should not be the cause of a sister rivalry because it is not worth it.

I'm not sure you can convince her. Have the two of you tried to discuss this rationally without her getting angry? How did she come up with the $3,000 figure? Maybe she is really angry about the fact that she doesn't have a nanny, housekeeper and cook who paid her!!

Ok so she thinks you owe her about $3.000, And how much does she owe you for all you did for her, probably a lot more, so tell her that when she pays you aproximately $1.000 a month for the 9 months, then you will be able to pay her the #3.000. I am glad she is not my sister. good luck to you
