It is possible for a dog to cough up or vomit a worm. The most common worm that a dog will cough up or vomit is the roundworm. Generally if a dog coughs up or vomits worms, it means the dog has a very heavy worm infestation.
The below site has photos of different kinds of intestinal worms a dog may have.

It is possible to have worms appear in a water bowl if that water bowl is outdoors, and in warm climates or warm seasons, mosquitoes lay eggs in the water, which then hatch out into tiny wormlike larvae.
The water in the dish should be changed daily, but if you have a big water bucket and want to change it every two or three days, putting a small amount of ordinary bleach into the water will help prevent algae and bacteria from growing in the water.

if she's a puppy it is very common for them to have round worms bad enough they are coming out both ends. you should take a fresh fecal sample to your vet tomorrow and have it checked. and if you haven't gotten her her first vaccines yet have that done while you're there and they'll deworm her. you'll have to have a vet tell you for sure what kind of worm it is and if it's from your dog or not. good luck. most vets open around 8am.
yes pets with a bad infestation of any intestinal worm can vomit them. they are intestinal parasites and will be found in the stool's most commonly but also in vomit. i have seen a cat vomit up a tapeworm about 10 inches in length and not in segments. the tapeworm was whole. and don't take any pill that is not labeled for human use unless your human dr prescribes it. same for your dog, unless your vet has said it's ok don't give human meds. besides the dewormers you find in petstores and walmart usually only rid your pet of one type of worm. there may be more than one parasite at work in your dog's tummy. best to be safe and have the feces tested by your vet.

Worm are common in puppies and often milk worms will show up in the water bowl. The water washes the worm out of the mouth but will more often show up in the stool. Get a worm er from the store and follow the directions closely.. it will take more then one dose to get rid of worms.

I don't think so, you need to get your dog dewormed, you can buy some over the counter stuff, but you don't know what kind of worms you're looking at for sure, so a visit to the vet is called for. It also could have been a maggot, I suppose if you feed your dog canned dog food and don't clean his dish, even if it was in his water, he (or she) could have carried it over there. Please take better care of your dog, you are all he/she has and you have responsibility to keep your pet healthy and happy!! Good luck!! By the way, this is my dog, his name is Boss!

Did it look like rice?
Could the dog have brought it in from outside and dropped it while drinking?
Baby Maggots, which are fly eggs hatched, look like little white wormies. Wash your dog's food and water bowel daily!
Check your dog's poop every day when you pick it up to see if there are worms in it, or little white rice looking things...If you see those, take the poo sample to the vet, and have them tell you what kind of worms your dog has!
There are round worms, tape worms, heart worms, etc.
tape worms are passed by fleas.
Best to take Doggy for his annual or new doggy visit to the VET!!

Intestinal worms come out in the feces, they don't come out the mouth.
It may be there was some kind of worm in the dog's food. This would not harm the dog; most likely it would be some kind of larva eating the dog food. But it could become a nuisance in the house. If you freeze the food for 2 days it would kill any bugs in it.

If you feed your dog dry food, it is probably a meal-worm from the food, and I would suggest tossing the rest, getting a new bag, and storing it in the freezer if she doesn't eat all of it quickly.
If a dog has worms, it will come out in their stool (poop) not from their mouth or nose.
But, you do need to clean your dogs bowl more often.

I doubt it came out of your dog. Dogs can throw up worms when they have a bad infestation though.

Dogs regularly have worms and should be de-wormed twice a year. You should de-worm yourself whenever you deworm you dog, since you most probably are infected by your dog.
It is one tablet for your dog and one for yourself. Cheap and easy.
