You answered another person by saying that you used to be a Christian, but are now an atheist. A Christian is someone who knows God and Jesus christ. (John 17:3).
Did you know the Lord?
If you did know Him, then He must be real and you cannot be an atheist.
If you did not know Him (or thought you did but decided you were wrong) then you were never a Christian.
Did you know the Lord?

Another Biblical qualification for being a Christian is the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Did the Holy Spirit indwell you? Yes or no.
If no, you were not a Christian.

A Christian is someone who believes in the divinity of Jesus Christ and believes in the existence of the Judeo-Christian deity. "a person who believes in Jesus Christ; adherent of Christianity"
I was a Christian. I am no longer a Christian.
If you want to argue about "knowing", I spent a lot of time THINKING I knew something when really it's impossible to "know" something that isn't there. Joe may "know" "Steve the floating invisible wombat" but that doesn't mean "Steve" exists... it just means Joe has convinced himself that "Steve" exists to be known.
That, or Joe is bonkers.
*edit* You're right, Satan would technically be a Christian (that's only if Satan exists and Satan doesn't exist...). Of course, you seem to've missed that I ALSO added "adherent to Christianity". You know... one who adheres to the Christian religion?
And there is no Holy Spirit. It doesn't reside in you or anyone else. It never can because IT DOESN'T EXIST. I may have felt like I had "the holy spirit in me", but it was just a feeling. People convince themselves of feeling things that aren't happening constantly. The trick is to learn to RECOGNIZE baseless, irrational feelings instead of accepting them as rooted in reality (which they aren't).

You can't assume that being Christian is "knowing" Jesus and such. Being Christians means that you have faith that he was the "lord and savior" and such and such.
I used to be Christian too, and I know I was Christian back than because I used to pray to Jesus and actually thought I prays were being answered.
How rude of you to assume what a Christian really is you fundie.
I am Agnostic now.

what I don't understand is why, since this question is directed at a certain person there are others answering it
2) Zero Cool is a woman, if you dare to click on her profile
3) If you want to post a question to her, why don't you email her instead of directing the question to the board? That would have been more appropriate

Story Junkie, Zero doesn't state his/her gender, merely that he/she has a husband and baby boy. Welcome to 2007.
If Zero and revulayshun want to engage in a public forum, that's fine by me.

I think this is a theory that you have devised yourself to rationalize how people could possibly think differently than you. You have probably convinced yourself of many things.
