OK i was planning on Air Force in my future but recently....i was caught with pills at school. Im a 15 yr old female that was caught with 30 muscle relaxers and in the state of VA that is considered a felony and im out of school for a year which i have to go to alternative school. and i have to go to juvi for 6 months or to jail for 30 days if my parents choose. Plus community service. And i might suffer from depression which i have to get evaluated in a couple of weeks for that.

But my question is can you still get in the Airforce with charges like felony onyour record?

My officer told me my record will be cleared when im a certain age but doubtfully before im 18. And if i cant get into the Airforce for this... what kind of military can i ex... army?

Please help me i want to go into the military SO BAD!

Expunged will do yuou zero good. The military( and ALL branches use the same methods to get information) will find out about it.

The felony conviction will require a waiver. now, whether or not that will be approved is anybody's guess. to maximize your chances:

Keep your nose squeaky clean from here on out. I mean qualify for sainthood clean. graduate High school.. with good grades. No dropping out or getting a GED. the AF won't take GED holders period.

Now you have a golden opportunity here.. you say you want to join the military so bad.. so why would you do something so foolish as to be walking around with drugs on school grounds? LEARN from this l;ittle episode that ALL actions have consequences. How you conduct yourself from here on out will determine your character.

Side note: if you are prescribed medicine for the depression.. you must be OFF of them ...under doctor's orders for a full 12 months AND function normally during that time before you can even think about enlisting. so be very careful.

Oh yeah.. and don't even THINK about neglecting to tell your recruiter. they WILL find out, and when they do.. you are convicted of fraudulent enlistement with absolutely zero chance of EVER getting back in.. to any branch.

I don't really know the answer to your question, but I have some real good advise for you. Clean up your act and keep it clean. You probably will be able to get into the military if they expunge your record. My nephew had a felony but kept his act clean and now his record is clean. Once the record is expunged, you will NOT have a felony conviction and then could get into any military branch which would accept you before the felony.
Most young people do not realize the opportunities that drug convictions eliminate in life. Being a lawyer or police officer and I am sure there are many others.
Go out of your way to cooperate with the judge, parole officer, and any other officials that you come in contact with during this time. Make sure that when you leave confinement that the people in charge think well of you. Make it clear to everyone that you REALLY plan to change your life. Oh, and Good luck.

They will take you
you can have it expunged provided you stay out of trouble
sounds like you are going to have quite a bit of time off
why not take some time and go to the library and check out the ASVAB books
if you do well on the tests you can have a better choice when picking out your MOS.
Be honest, you did not kill anyone.
I dont think you will have a problem getting in but it might prevent you from jobs requiring certain security clearances.
GOOD LUCK

Even if you do get in the military, the drugs they give you are different than you may prefer.Such as black beauty's,they are speeed. If they do give them to you you will be up for weeks at a time.and when you get out you will be back on the street and looking for anything, anything at all that will give you comfort. There is none. Why not set your goals higher, make your own decisions, educate and protect those of us at home.We will be the last line of your defense and survival.

I don't know what the law is where youa re but Calif...if you have a felony as a minor....it sticks with you for ever.....it's some new law that came out a few years ago.

I'm not saying whether or not you can get in but don't all the branches have the same basic requirements?

Expunged! If it is a juvenile record it will not show up!
Time to grow up I guess and await your fate,, if you have to wait then you will have to wait!

Drug using trash isn't the sort of stuff our military wants.
