Tegretol (carbamazepine) is approved for pediatric use in the US. It is available as liquid suspension and chewable tablets just for kids (or adults who have trouble swallowing).
Tegretol is not for all seizure disorders. This would be determined by the pediatrician or neurologist. Blood tests have to be routinely done to monitor blood levels as well as liver function and blood cell counts. In rare instances severe side affects have occured, but blood tests can help prevent these from happening.

This is a question that needs to be addressed to your doctor or pharmacist as they are the only ones who can advise you on this.
