All they ever do on here is whine to no end about how religious people talk about religion. I suspect that they are exaggerating because I almost never hear anyone even mention anything about religion except either when I'm at church or when I come to this forum which is about religion.

My guess is that either the atheists who are complaining are going to church and complaining about hearing about religion there, or they are complaining that religion is being discussed in the Religion and Spirituality section of Yahoo Answers.

If atheists don't like hearing about religion in this religious forum why don't they stick with the home and gardening section of Yahoo Answers? I would venture to bet that they won't have to hear much about religion there.

To piss off Christians.

If I thought golf wasn't a sport, rather a skill, would I be hanging around that forum explaining why golf isn't a real sport?

If we didn't want to hear about it -- we wouldn't be here. Therefore, I reject your premise.

I am an agnostic. I come here for two reasons. I know more about the history of Christianity than most Christians (especially Protestants who tend to be particularly ignorant about the tenets of their fait or about Catholics).

In addition, many Christians (especially Protestants) want to legislate their religious views. We need only look at Bush's stance on stem cell research, the Kansas Board of Education's attempt to take Evolution out of the schools and the uproard over the Terri Schiavo case to see that this fringe group of Christian Extremists has gone too far.

I suppose that some non-believers are here for sport -- but there are better reasons.

i might say that there are a number of. maximum human beings of folk, climate they be Theists or atheist do not state their non secular place until they are asked to take action. i'm yet to stumble upon an atheist doing any of here: * combating me on the line and asking me again to a amassing * status on a highway cornder any yelling approximately atheism on the right of their lungs * Knocking on my door to talk to me approximately atheism. * Sitting on the practice station and handing out atheists tracts. * Arguing that theists don't have have the rights of citizenship * Calling for the summery execution of theists yet I even have encountered Theists doing all the above. it appears that evidently any time an atheist states their atheist place interior the everyday public communicate board and tries to describe how and why they got here to this place, it incredibly is declared as hate. yet whilst a member of the honest does an identical, basically louder and with threats of hearth, brimstone and everlasting damnation, it incredibly is declared as love. this question can very definitely be circled to ask why some theists experience the might desire to sentence all different positions because of the fact the artwork of the devil? whilst Atheists do talk out it has a tendency to be writing books and articles, which you will elect to not examine, or talking at applications the place they have been invited to communicate. They try this to make their society a greater robust place, be removing superstitions and changing them with rationality.

I don't hate hearing about religion, it's just the horrid amounts of ignorance that get on my case. You'd love to hear some of the assumptions made about me on here by Christians. Not too mention the number of times I've used the bible to prove christians wrong about there own religion.

Atheists have views and perspectives on religion and spirituality same as anyone. This isn't the "exclusive clubhouse" for the religious and spiritual. It's for ANYONE who has ANYTHING to ask or answer on the subject.

Why whine about it? Get over it. Atheists have minds too. Atheists have perspectives too. Theirs is just as valid as anyone elses. If they think religion is negative or harmful, what makes that point of view less worthy of inclusion than the point of view held by someone who has something nice to say about it?

Small but Fierce, a cause, principle, or activity pursued with zeal or conscientious devotion doesn't refer to religion in the sense that it does with Christianity. Religion, in the context of this definition, would be used for exaggerating the significance of the enjoyment of a habit or activity in which one engages.

Like "I love jogging... I do it every day religiously" or "watching baseball is my religion".

It's not meant to imply that "jogging" or "watching baseball" or anything else applicable by the standards of this definition should be considered categorically equivalent to organized religion.

Some of the time, you don't even have to leave your home and don't have to be on the computer to hear this crap. Sometimes they come to YOUR home and refuse to leave when you ask them politely, so you have to literally slam the door in their face. I know I had to do that so many times. And what really makes me mad, is when they don't even take that as an answer, so I crank up my "devil" music as they call it. Then and only then do they get the hint that I don't care to hear their crap!

Christians have mostly decided based on the evidence as they perceive it and are here for fun and healthy debate. Why should anyone else not feel the same?
